Monsoon finally let up and I got some pics. Let's see if I can remember all that I did in the past two months:

huge amount of cleaning underneath
brakes = e-bay drilled/slotted rotors, Porterfield R4S pads
Aldan coilover shocks w/300-500 springs = raised half inch over Eibachs
Roe facia ducting kit
Roe rear air box section with 3" outlets & new silicone tubes
painted windshield cowl piece to match body
repainted underside of facia & added Roe rubber bumpers
removed foglights and painted fog light covers to match body
Rand HID low beams
MGW round shift knob
powdercoat steel smooth tubes and PCM cover
vinyl graphics on wheels
vinyl windshield banner

I know the painted fog covers are blasphemous. I apologize if anyone is offended. At first I hated them but they are growing on me very quickly. I did the graphics because after two years of owning the car I was getting bored - and in five minutes I could peel them off if I want to give up on the rice boi look.

So far in the short 15 or so miles I have driven not one iota of difference. Have not been on any sustained freeway runs yet though. In-town only so far so not moving through the air very quickly. Nice kit though!

Looks nice. I dont care for the graphics on the wheels though. Who did the graphic on the windshield? I'd like the same thing but with a blue ACR instead of GTS

Thanks for pics, well impressed with painted light covers...look fantastic, I'll be doing some for mine now. Only personal comment re grahics is I wouldn't have gone with the red color, stands out and looks too rice, otherwise graphics is good, but in your case, maybe nicer as is, if all in grey.

Motul 600 is your friend

Fairly fresh Motul in the car. Nice and light and clear when you look in the resevoir. For some reason it looks dark from the outside. I think it is the white plastic of the resevoir getting dingy.

I can personally attest that Michael's brake fluid is fresh, it's the reservoir that is discolored.

Car looks very clean, but I'd lose the graphics. How 'bout some photos of the super clean undercarriage?

The nice thing about both the fog covers and the graphics are that they are temporary. If you sell the car you could peel off the vinyl graphics and throw in some clear covers in 10 minutes. You are right that the idea with the small bit of orange (UK "red" as you call it ) was to introduce a little color to the car as it has no "color" anywhere. All silver, grey, black. The only shiney bits are the throttle bodies, radiator, lug nuts and center caps.

Mine did the same thing. Drain the reservoir and put a cloth on the tip of a flathead screwdriver and you can rub most of the "dingyness" (old dried fluid) off from the sidewalls. It wont get it "good as new", but you will be able to tell a difference

I just ordered a new resevoir from Tator yesterday. He said there were only two left in the system. That leaves one.

My old HREs are refurbished and on Dimitrios' yellow car in NYC.


I previously powder coated the intake and valve covers in grey wrinkle but forgot to do the steel part of the smooth tubes so I did the smooth tubes and the PCM cover to match the older coating work.

Dang I need to clean up that TPS harness plug!

How 'bout some photos of the super clean undercarriage?

I am not a ballar with a lift like you Jim , and it is hard to take undercarriage shots on jack stands, but here is a shot of the rear Aldan with the two little sleeves they give you to fit the heim end in the stock shock mount. You can also see that I powder coated the the lower shock mount yokes silver after grinding off the casting flash and smoothing out the no longer needed spring tail catch and you can see the Belanger wide clamp connecting their side sill piece to their rear piece on their back-half exhaust system. 40mm Tom caliper also but you can't tell that from a picture!

Looks great Michael! I did similar cleaning a while ago. When I had the motor out, I meticulously cleaned the engine compartment and polished everthing I could. Then a couple of weeks later, while driving, my upper radiator hose blew off. Needless to say it wasn't spotless anymore!

Actually, you can tell it's a 40mm due to the boring bar contacting the inside of the caliper casting support for the outer pad. I'm working on that, believe it or not...

If Jim did not live so far away I drive to his house and put the car on the lift so I could snap a shot. It is pretty much impossible to take a pic of the Roe duct with the car only a foot off the ground on jack stands (even the pics in the Roe instructions ****) - but let me tell you, since I had the whole facia off and repainted after I cut the hole it looks darn good! I re-engineered the rear structural piece Roe gives you as I did not like their suggested install (at least what I could make of it from their instructions) and think my version turned out a lot cleaner. Their big panel that goes under the "hole" behind the radiator was sized and shaped perfectly. I will try and think of a way to get a picture because it does look nice.

P.S. The rough texture of the oil pan is like a grease stain magnet! I don't know what you have to do to get these pans REALLY clean and looking new.

I did similar cleaning a while ago. When I had the motor out, I meticulously cleaned the engine compartment and polished everthing I could. Then a couple of weeks later, while driving, my upper radiator hose blew off. Needless to say it wasn't spotless anymore!

The o-rings where the AC lines connect to the condensor failed (I understand this is a common problem on earlier cars) sometime back and made an oily mess on the whole driver's side of the engine bay, and then I had the lower rear corner of the passenger side valve cover gasket crack and seep so that made a bit of a mess in the tunnel, plus I spilled a little overflow of fluid out of the master cylinder resevoir when I pushed the caliper pistons back for the new brake pads. NO MORE! Of course now I do not want to drive it and get it dirty!

They look good that is for sure, and the fitment is even better than the stock shocks (I did change so that I have 9" springs all around - that put all four spring perches right about in the middle of the adjustment so if you want to dump it, this would allow for about an inch less height than I am running). I wanted a few things and the Aldans were a good value to get them given I have a street-only car: softer springs, adjustable ride height, externally adjustable damping. Mission accomplished so far, but I will admit the damping adjustments do not have a huge difference and it seems to me I would not have enough damping on the rear if I had stiffer springs. Seems fine for my soft 500 pounders, but 650s??? It is still hot here so I have not done much driving. I see people all over the Gen III board talking bad about the Aldans, but not much for hard data other than some isolated comprehensive failures. My car is just for pimping and 0-100 mph runs so I bet they will be fine for me.
