Uh-oh, Anyone have steering rack go bad?

I had a post about steering wheel crooked. Now, seems that at lock on the right side, the rack is noisy. Has anyone else had rack "jump" teeth or sheer teeth? Rest of steering shafts and assembly is okay and at torque.

BTW, is their viper tax on steering rack?

I think the Gen2 steering rack is from a Dodge Dakota.

The body of the rack is from a Dakota but IT DOES NOT fit a Dakota anymore!
