Doc,

You'll like the 2-inch seat lowering kit. I did find that it moved the seat forward just a bit in my SRTC, not as much in my SRT-10.

Not only will you be more comfortable in the seat, you can see out of the car much better with the seat lower. You can also feel what the car is doing much better.

Dan

Only thing that I don't like about the lower kit, is its pretty hard to see over the back when backing up.

I have an 05, and I am a good size guy.. 250 6' 3"

Have lowered my seats however. No idea what causes it. Seats aren't that uncomfortable, but it just causes my back to hurt.

Btw I am 31 so i hope its not age yet :)

Have the same problem. 6'3" 245 here and have the 2" lowering kit. Problem is, with the lowering kit the RIGHT side seat bolster is pressed up against the center console and 'digs' into the upper thigh/lower back. Could be quite uncomfortable at times.

Seriously considering trading it in on an AMG CLS63.. Just never feel comfortable in it :)

I understand, every now and then when my back hurts or my knee pain is acting up I consider the alternatives, but after a spirited drive the other options just don't have the appeal for me.

My gen. II had an inflatable lumbar adjustment which I "sorely" (pun intended) missed in my Gen III. I added a small foam lumbar support and the seat was much better. I love everything else about the seats, but the lumbar support is a cheap feature which even Dakotas and Durangos have. This should be included with the seat as a manual lever adjustment in the side of the seat (like Dakotas and Durangos) IMHO. I realize some folks don't need them, so they could set theirs in the neutral position, while the rest of us needing lumbar support could use this feature to one degree or another. On a long trip, it does make a difference, and yes, I do take my Vipers on long trips and put miles on them. They are meant to be driven, so I do that, too. :)

Go with the E63, that is what i did. There is no head room in the CLS.

PS The E63 is a great daily driver, probably the best 4-door for everyday driving.

I might have to check that one out tommorow. The salesguy neglected to tell me about the model. I suspect because they didn't have one on the lot.

I sat in a porsche 911 turbo today. Seriously leaning towards that one. Way more comfortable then the viper :)
