Ive boiled it down to a GTS or the ACR version. The ones im looking at are low mileage. In your guys opinion will both these cars hold about the same value? I will not be driving the car that much, minimal wear. This will be a weekender. The ACR i can grad for 35K, the GTS for about 33K. Both have 18K miles, decisions decisions.
Your help has been awesome so far.

ACR will hold slightly better. Don't ever buy a toy based on holding value though.

I realize that unfortunately. Wish i had half the money ive blown on toys. Its better then some habits, thats for sure:)

for a 2k difference get the acr. Will hold value better and have higher resale.
The shocks mat need to be redo at some point if not already but value wise the acr is the ticket and it has the comfort package as u stated in another post.
The wheels alone still sell for 4k.
Get the acr, I just hope it's the color u want over the non acr version.
The acr also has the kn filter smooth tubes and, to me more importantly, the baffle oil pan.

Again I'm saying this in conclusion that both cars checked out and are mechanically sound and both show equal.

imo, if you drive it the way you said, get the acr

but, i'd drive it more, so i'd get the one i like the most - color, options, etc.

congrats on your upcoming purchase

:drive:

Remember the acr is a stiffer ride as it's set up for the track. Just food for thought but regardless I'd get the acr.

Looks like a large gap from hood to front fascia and the stock air box is gone. Anytime I see that, I think front end collision.

I'd get them both checked out before purchasing. I personally like the black ACR better.

I would go for the ACR for only $2k more... The car stickers for $10k over the other one new and it just looks straighter in the pics... Have whichever one you choose inspected either way.

First thing I noticed was the gap between the hood and facia(on the GTS, not ACR), I would look this one over very closely before you buy.

Walled Lake used to be around where I live (metro detroit). But this is a no brainer. If you get that ACR for 35k...that is awesome. I have a 2000 GTS ACR that I "stole" one year ago for 37k. Obviously the market went down further. It has leveled off a bit and I have noticed pricing going back up a tad. The GTS ad is way too slick. "New paint"....blow me. That sounds ridiculous. The seller has NO CLUE about pricing either based on his claims. He sounds like he is trying to get someone locally that knows nothing about this car to think they are getting a deal. The ACR looks cleaner, is a higher end model and black ACR's are just sick. I am just wondering why you are even leaning toward the 2000 GTS instead of the ACR? Really learn what to look out for. I was on these forums for a LONG time before I bought one and went from 50k budget to 45k to 40k to 37k as I kept waiting and waiting. Finally I bought and it ended up being an impulse buy as I saw it for sale locally for over a year not selling and decided to buy for convenience. I would not recommend doing that as there were little issues I chose to ignore such as valve cover paint bubbles. I checked autotrader for fun the other day and surmised that the 2000 GTS ACR was the best value on there.

Also, I do notice a lot of valve cover bubbling on the GTS in Walled Lake. Other members that know more about cars can probably confirm it. It is on the right side of the valve cover. That front end definitely looks repainted. Can't confirm it because that color changes hue based on angle, sun and other factors...but probably a bad buy dude.

Get the ACR and have it thoroughly inspected. Depending on where it's located perhaps local VCA members can look it over for you. Good luck.

LOL !!! It always cracks me up how well people can analyze the condition and the probable history of a car from low resolution photos.

I agree with the posts above, though. Be very careful of any car that has been modded. Those air filters have been positioned right behind the radiator. Who in their right mind would do that? At least that means that it probably isn't a fellow VCA member on this site whose car we're bashiing.

That GTS has been for sale for a long time it was around when I was looking over a year ago and if I remember right there was something wrong with it like its a salvage or something.

The ACR oil pan is exactly the same than the GTS
