I have been thinking of starting a auction page for auto related items, similar to the ebay layout. Maybe even a "big boys toys" section for other autos, boats and the such. I frequent ebay for deals on big buck toys but have to scroll through hundreds of rings, watches, paintings, property and paraphinalia to see the few vehicles that are included in the "big ticket items" section.(any item bid to an excess of $ 5,000.00)

Do you think that something like this would spark interest? Any thoughts? Any other websites like it?

I like the idea! The only stuff that I look at on E-Bay is Viper stuff.
Sounds like a good idea to me.

Excellent idea. Lets get Tony to handle this and put in on our site here. I just know he would not mind

he he he. I can also tell you that without mentioning names of major viper tuners that they have certain individuals they directly sell their take off to. Perhaps they would rather place their parts on the auction board also.

The link that Marv S posted. There is a 97 WHITE GTS on it for auction. Am I right but they didn't make a white one right?? Cause the guy e-mail me back and told me that was the factory color, anyways I pretty much wanted to laugh at him but didn't cause I wanted to run it by you guys/gals first.

Jason, just e-mail the guy the following link and laugh away:
http://www.viperclub.org/IVR/vin.html

It does not show any white 1997 GTS Vipers.

The description in the auction says "However, the car (originally black) was repainted Pearl White (looks just awesome)" BUT they did not have a factory BLACK GTS in 1997 either. Also lists the car as having ABS. Red flags all over the place on this seller! Someone should run the VIN for fun and check the salvage history on the car

Something doesn't look quite right on the front "gts" facia either.

I know the car now. It's about a hour away from where I live at. It was in the Wheels & Deals here in Tennessee last week. In the picture in the book on the far back wall of it theres a sign that says "Body Shop". Oh Well

Auction Script..... Sure we'd be interested.

One comment, looking for deals in an auction is completely dependent on the seller not knowing what they have, or more importantly not knowing what it is worth. This is not very likely to occur when people here buy and sell stuff.

I have been doing the classifieds for the VCA site for going on five years now.... really good deals pop up occasionally, as do really bad deals

, but for the most part, cars, parts, etc. sell for fair prices because the classifieds have such a large knowledgeable Viper usership. Last week a fellow who had listed his top unsuccessfully on Ebay listed an ad in the VCA classifieds, he sold it the next day for what his asking price... to a person THREE MILES FROM HIS HOUSE.

We are always willing to ad features to the site, auctions sound cool. In a sense, and "ad" is an auction as buyer and seller offer and counter offer 'till a price is agreed upon, an "auction" just make this process public, right?

P.S. We are testing a new classifieds area that has full search capabilities, and a feature that emails new ads to registered users (if they request them). My note last week brought in a dozen testers that are doing a great job of "bug-finding".
