So I have Nationwide and pay $832.90 every 6 mos. for my 2006'. This sounds high compared to what I recall others were paying. I have plenty of discounts on my policy; i.e. multi car, house, defensive driver, Farm Bureau member, safe driver, accident free, etc. on all my vehicles.
I have called other Co. and the minute I mention "Viper", most say they do not insure that vehicle. I find it hard to believe that there are only "some" insurance co. that ensure these types of vehicles. What about Porsche, Lambo, Ferrari, Maserati?

If it's not your daily driver, try Grundy. I pay about 650 a year. 50k agreed value. No mileage restrictions but can only use the car for "pleasure driving".

thanks. I guess the catch is driving restrictions as far as the need to be going to a car show, event, or maintenance needs.

In the past I've had Progressive, Geico, and currently have Travelers. No issue with them accepting a viper. I have a personal agent that runs quotes so that may make a difference...

I'm with American Family, no restrictions, around $300/6mo. The same agent is covering my Dad's Delorean too(and you thought it was hard to get coverage for a Viper :lmao: ). The best part is he lets me take the moving coverage off when it's stored which drops the premium substantially, but it's still covered if stolen or the garage burns down or something.

I am going through travelers and it's 420 / 6 months. I might look into hagerty and see what they will do. Never heard of Grundy.

Is the "no mileage restriction" true? Whenever I've spoken with them, there's always a restriction. Has there been a change? I've got a very low premium with Geico, but Grundy would still be less.

I specifically asked them about the mileage and looked over the policy, nothing in there about a mileage cap. I just switched over from American Modern and my limit there was 3k a year. Here is Grundy's definition....

1. Is maintained solely for use in exhibitions, parades, club activities, or other functions of public
interest
2. Is not used for regular driving to work, school, errands, shopping, general transportation,
secondary or back-up transportation, business or commercial purposes, except for limited
pleasure use.

Thanks for the response pdub. Based on the language you posted, I guess it comes down to the working definition of "limited pleasure use". I wonder if I driving 6,000 miles a year completely for "pleasure" would be acceptable. Probably should apply on-line noting my honest intent and see how it comes back.

Grundy here as well. $700 per year. I was told "limited use" includes occasional dinner outtings etc. (assuming the car is parked in a safe and secure area such a valet space and not on the street where it can't be vandalized or stolen). Not to be driven to a shopping mall, supermarket, etc. (errand use).

I pay about $720/year with USAA for my Gen 2. I priced a couple other places and they were within a few dollars. I think not living in a big city makes a significant difference. Stated mileage is about 5,000/year

MVP requires a minimum of three vehicles that are categorized in at least two classes, i.e. two classic cars and a daily driver.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Who I use. By far the cheapest. I pay 40 a month full coverage driving it often. Perfect record and 36 Y/O.

I'm going to have to try all the above companies. I pay $2100/year for my Viper and daily. I made my first claim in my life after hydroplaning into a guardrail back in July in the Viper. Geico is dropping me next month. Now I can't find a quote under $4k (Progressive, Allstate, Hagerty).

Yeah, you don't want the MVP plan. You want the one that says Grundy Worldwide by Philadelphia Insurance.
