I would like to be the first to ask the Viper Faithful to Help Ben out during this time. Most know by now that his
car Burned during Sebring. I am sure it is pretty much gone, and melted. We could start a Kick Starter Account to help Ben
or even Pay Pal. What do you think ???

Agree 100% with all these last rplies. Did you get my hint with first reply? BTW Bleek brothers are out too as are the crew for the time being until another car can be built. It is the risk you take by being a privateer team and its EXPENSIVE to say the least. He will survive and come back with a new car.

Whether or not he can afford it is irrelevant. It is a nice gesture to ask. It is not a charitable contribution since he is not a charity. It is just a gesture of support. My guess is that he will appreciate the gesture and politely decline. Since the racing activity is directly related to his business and is an effective way to advertise and add credibility to his business, it is probable that the racing is planned in a manner to be, as much as lawfully possible, deductible.

I applaud him for his success. I am sure it took many years of hard work to achieve it.

Well whether or not he has money, he is a helluva a guy and has a hell of a passion for Vipers, and deserves any support we can throw his way (ie buy some cars).

Terrible tragedy but he'll bounce back soon I hope...

Come guys no one got killed, right? The tone of this thread is like "terrible tragedy"….it s a car and any car is replaceable. Thats the nature of racing business, cars get crashed and mangled. What else do you expect? Insurance will pay some, and i am sure they have insurance for this type of event, since they are racing professionally. Now can we talk about the plane that disappeared
and no one seems to know what happened to it, including 200 some passengers.

It was and is a business venture with business risks. If the business doesn't have the proper insurance, then shame on it. There are plenty of real needs out there that need our charitable giving, a melted Viper is not one of them.

If that's the case and you'd like to start a charity to get Ben another viper then I should start one for myself. I wrecked my viper at the end of 2012 and I'm pretty depressed. It'll be a long time before I can save up enough money for another.

I follow a rule I was told years ago, "Never race anything you can't afford to push off a cliff". I have 4 race cars and I would hate to loose any of them but that is the chance I take every-time I put one of them on the track. And none of it is deductible for me, although, I think it should be as a medical expense.

Ben is a fantastic guy and has been a tremendous supporter of all things Viper for many many years.

First, we are all glad that he is OK, and was able to get unhooked and out of his burning car before being injured.

Ben looked pretty professional the way he stepped out of the burning car, and yet still went back to turn off the electrical and fuel switches. Car was in terminal condition at that time, yet he did his best to protect it.

As others have said, in addition to the best wishes of the entire Viper Community, perhaps one of the better things for us to do is to consider buying some of the fantastic Vipers he has stockpiled in his inventory, as both a financial and personal support.

Glad you are safe Ben. That must have been a pretty scary time.
