How do ya feel bout dat!Less than $25G stock turbo tuning the SRT-4 with a street legal drag radial running way into 11's.To close to home.Heard 12.9'-13.2's stock avg.I don't think the Gen3 has beaten the Gen2's fastest 1/4,that's a problem. The Gen3 isn't gonna make it on good looks alone!lol.
I do thank Dodge for not grooming the SRT-4 :smirk:

OK I'll bite. I saw one at the Viper nationals, and it ran low 14's (completely stock). Haven't seen any other run....

Let me make sure I understand before calling BS - Were talking a SRT-4 with STOCK turbo, full exhaust, tuning, and drag radials can run in the 11's? If so, that is amazing. I would think those times would require a MAJOR turbo upgrade, fuel system, etc.... Give us more details...

P.S. - Now can you imagine a car that weights around 2300 pounds, same motor, rear wheel drive, around $16,000? Dodge Razor!!!!

I ran one that seemed to have beaten me at a local dragstrip - I tried so hard to catch it that I spun my tires the entire 1320' and only got a 13.3 ET. The Neon SRT-4 got a 13.4 ET, but he red lighted and I didn't know that when I chased him. I didn't run anymore that night after that because the track was getting so slippery. This was the only 2nd day I drag raced my Viper in preperation for Viper Nationals at Norwalk a week ago.

Not even close, stock they run similar times to stock 99'+ Mustang GT's. But your saying a stock SRT-4 with only drag radials turned 11's, no possible way, guys with the Stage 1 upgrade and drag radials I would say get low to mod 13's with a very good driver.

This is what it took to get a low 12 second SRT-4:
1) 12.423 @ 111.97 | 1.863 | 26x6x15 Drag slicks | Route 66 Dragway, IL | Mopar S1, T3T4E turbo, log manifold, DM Motor mounts, Tial 35mm WG, Full 3" turboback exhaust, Nitrous Express 75 shot (WET) and Blackdog CAI | Redsrt4me

America is putting a beating on the imports :usa:
- 03' Cobra: incredible potential
- Viper: nuff said
- ZO6
- And now the SRT-4

Gotta love it when for the $$$, we put out cars of that caliber (even the Viper IMO is a bargain for what it offers, if it had a Ferrari badge on it we would probably be paying upwards of 200-300K).

I would be willing to bet that this so called 11 sec neon was completly gutted as well, and ran skinnies on the back.

Gerald:

you have time, good - come down to Columbus this Sat/Sun, the Muscle Car Finals. We are going to race the new Corvette/Viper class. If you want to come let me know I will give you details.

Don't burn on those '03 Rustang Cobra's.
Friend of mine nabbed one. Pulley, exhaust, intake, & chip later...(less than two grand total) 440 rwhp!! And it hooks nicely too, even on it's 275 series 17" pizza cutters.

Since they are only 20K and the one he's talking about is $25K I would assume he's done some upgrades. :smirk:

Brad
Supposedly you can chip and tune the stock turbo, add exhaust with drag radials(maybe et's)and run 11's,or even low 12's(I'd still have to see it myself)under $25k.After driving one I found that it's all about 1st gear, you have a tight window before serious wheel hop.I'm a decent driver and hopped it like a texas jack rabbit 2 of the 4 times, coming out hard.I guess the bottom line here reinforces modding your viper, there's too much sheet out there knocking on our doors.
Hey G,Better yet lets meet up in Vegas, they gotta have a stretch Viper we can run with. We'll have to bring Dusty along to keep us honest and kick some A$$.

I highly doubt it, look at my post above somewhere and you can see what it took to get an SRT4 into the low 12's ;) . Here's a thread on the SRT forum on hitting 11's http://www.srtforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=07c17cec74c5194e22e4b5dcc2eebd0a&threadid=12740&highlight=running+11s .

There are guys right now developing turbo kits to bring the SRT4 into the 11's with bolt on's included, I'm just wondering where you got info on an SRT4 running 11's w/ only a chip, drag radials etc?

Saleen man, thanks for the info, very glad to here.Peace
No, prob, but kinda like you, I thought with the mods those guys are running on that thread (especially the dude who ran 12.4 with everything including nitrous), I for sure thought they would be in the 11's easily with all those mods.

At least the SRT4 sounds a hell of a lot better that that annoying fart can crap on the imports, Suburu is the only other person to make a throaty sounding 4 ******. I had a guy floor an SRT4 past me in the Mountaineer and it sounded pretty mean for a 4 ******. I still think Porsche ahd the best sounding 4 ****** though IMO, that 3.0 they used in the 968 was awsome and torquey as hell for a n/a 4 cylinder, made 225 tq at about 4000 rpm or so n/a.

Don't forget the Lance EVO 8. We have 2 in town and they turn my head when I hear their STOCK exhaust.

[Update]

Read both threads on the forum. They both are teasing the 11s with a 20 shot of Nawz. This really is building to become something!!
