What is everybody doing for a motel since the drag racing was added? A night early at the Opryland hotel? Stay the night at Bowling Green? Whats up?????

P.S. Its not to late to go to a pro tree...its the only way a heads up race should be run.

So far its been a split(some choosing Bowling Green others Nashville), Kingman and I are choosing to stay in Bowling Green on the night of the 24th and drive to Nashville after the race.
***Yes anyone can come watch***
Please note a the under card
***SW the "golden boy" of Drag Racing is taking on Tom "I wrote the book on that" BTR in a stock Viper best out of Three. I really cant say how much is on this race but BLS from Florida is taking on all bets if you feel that SW is favored

can't wait for this one!!!!

Ok, let's talk some drag racing. First, no Paul, we are not full yet. I've deliberately been hanging back from saying too much about the event or pushing it until the mailing from Headquarters goes out to all those attending VOI, that catches those who DO NOT hang out on this board. Don't want to punish our fellow VCA members and other Viper owners just because they may be "computer deficient". They already miss out on a lot of fun by not joining us on this forum.

Anyway, I'll go ahead and start releasing some information you all may be interested in. First, let me thank our co-sponsors who have already stepped up along with DODGE, to help make this event possible. JonB at The Parts Rack was, as usual, one of the first vendors to jump in. The Terpstras at TNT Motorsports are also going to be giving tremendous support (one of their cars recently ran a 9.63 at over 150!!!). Devin King at Unitrax is aboard (heck, half the big-boy class drivers will probably be running their HD half-shafts). GreatBrakes.com has signed on, and you know a whole slew of cars at the event will be getting stopped at the end of the quarter mile by EBC pads. Tom Welch of BTR is going to help us and we all know the HE is going to have some awesome juice cars there, and many more Tuners and Vendors will be on board before it's over.

ALREADY, we can tell you this WILL be THE fastest and most competitive field EVER assembled in Viper drag racing history. The Unlimited class already has at least 5 cars I know of that have previously run in the 9's, and the Mod 2 entry list is already loaded with MANY supercharged cars, THREE twin turbo'd snakes, and some guys with MAJOR nitrous motors. By the time these two fastest classes are filled, I would personally pay BIG money to even see this event as a spectator...... but NO ONE will have to do that, because either watching OR participating is FREE! Right now, we're even holding some spots open for Sean Roe and Dan Cragin cars, which we hope will be ready to run by then. Hurry guys! We would like to see EVERY major tuner represented at this event, and I'm sure there's going to be some real smack talking peer pressure applied to any who haven't entered by the time we have to close off the registration.

HOWEVER, please remember these are just two of the classes. I don't want everyone getting the idea that you have to be a big-time racer with a Tuner car and lots of experience to participate. While the big guns battle it out for the top awards, the order of the day in the Stock, Mod 1 and Bracket/Exhibition classes is going to be to simply have FUN!!! The VCA and DODGE are going out of their way to give you VOI entrants the chance to come out and just have a good time running your car down the 1/4 mile. It's been a tradition at VOI's to be able to sample EVERYTHING your Viper is capable of doing, whether it's track, autocross, or pure acceleration at the strip. Your VCA officers wanted to continue that possibility. If you have NEVER taken your Viper to the drag strip before, and are nervous or intimidated about it, DON'T BE!! We will have plenty of skilled and experienced people on hand to help you have some fun. In fact, beginners USUALLY seem to have MORE fun than anyone else!!!!

Enough for now. Later on, we'll release more details about the support of another MAJOR vendor you just will NOT believe, and talk about all the factory people and major media you can come hang out with. And, MAYBE, drop some hints about all the "loot" in store for participants. Geez..... I still can hardly believe this is all coming down..... FOR FREE!!! DODGE and our co-sponsors are making this happen for you!!!

In the meantime, I would STRONGLY suggest that any of you who are still "on the fence" about this, get your entry in to Viper Headquarters RIGHT AWAY, before the mailing goes out, or it may be too late. The link to print your sign-up sheet is on the home page of our website.

See you at the strip......, the parade......... the track...... the autocross......, and the Neon autocross (I don't fit so good in those little cars, but it's STILL a blast!)

Opryland...... here we come!!!
