Hey SMok'in

My extended warranty is up on my 96 RT at the end of 2002, I would be interested in what I can buy beyond what I have...

I'm in the same boat with my '96 RT/10. Although right now I'm planning to wait until the expiration is closer as some unexpected costs have arisen with my other car. Keep me posted.

My extended service contract is up next week. I would be interested in a group buy if it is a Dodge warranty.

Thanks,
ED

I have read several posts about how it isnt possible to extend an extended warranty and how you cant extend the warranty if the car is already out of warranty (something about the Moss-Magnusen act??). Well, I have done some calling to get pricing and see who would be willing to extend a very good price if a group of us want to do a purchase together. I will check on extending the extended warranty as well. Any other owners with 99 and newer (still under the factory 3 year) that want to join in?

My original warranty is up in Feb. '03. Would like to wait a few more months to buy the extended, but group buy sounds great if the price difference is decent.
Dodge warranty, with as much coverage as possible!
Keep me informed!

I have found a couple of contacts and am seeking the best bid. I am personally looking for the DC Max Care 7 year 50K Mile extended warranty with a $100 deductable. This is closest plan you can get to a bumper to bumper original 3/36K warranty. Options may be fore more mileage (depending on how much you drive). Also, you may have a lower deductable ($50 or zero). Currently there the best deal I have found is $1440 for a 7/50K with $100 deductable. Im actively searching for better deals. I'll keep everyone posted.

My factory warranty is about up and I know buying an extended warranty is a wise decision. Anyone want to join me to buy an extended warranty? I think there should be power in numbers if we buy multiple warranties at the same time.

Update: I am still in the process of contacting dealers for the best possible price. I will try to post the findings this afternoon or tomorrow morning.

Ive done some pretty extensive calling. I am waiting for word from Steven Creek Dodge as well as 2 other dealers this afternoon. Prices are pretty close to each other and may vary slightly depending on what plan and deductible you want.

Well this is the best that I have come up with so far. I have received multiple emails and have received quotes from most of the dealers who post regularly on this board and offer VCA discounts already as well as from several who other members have posted. Here is the information:

1)For those with current extended warranties and wish to extend them further:
I recieved the following quote on 97 and 98 cars with less than 40K miles.
DC 3 Year/36000 mile Added Care Plus Warranty will be $1690 with a $100 deductible. Retail price is usually $2480.

2) For those still under the original 3/36 warranty (1999-2002 cars):

DC 7 Year/50,000 mile Max Care Plus with a $100 deductible:
$1370
Add $100 if your car is more than 1 year old ($1470)
Add $200 if your car is more than 2 years old ($1570)

For both types of plans, contact Larry Valdez at Stevens Creek Dodge. 408-248-1800. Reference the VCA Warranty Group Buy. Hope this helps! If anyone comes up with something better let me know. I will continue to search for a more days. This quote was roughly $100 less than anyone else.

Thanks for all the work.

These prices are for how many people buying at once or didn't you give them a count?

Perhaps with a gurantee of say 20 people the price could come down?

I am purchasing a 97 GTS that is out of warranty. Can I buy an extended warranty for that car? I got a quote from warrantygold.com for several different warranty plans but when I called them, they told me they couldn't offer me a warranty (even though I had a printout of a quote #, price, year, make and model for the Viper GTS). If my car qualifies, count me in!

MichaelP,
I did guarantee that at least 10 people would be participating in this group buy. I know that we have at least 20 people who are interested, however it is questionable wheather all would actually purhcase the warranty or would even qualify to buy one (have to have less than 40K miles, although most Vipers do haveless than that). This particular dealer also requires that used cars undergo an inspection at their dealerships if they are not already under an extended or factory warranty. If reponse on this group buy increases maybe we can sway them with a larger group. IF anyone else has any ideas, let me know.

So can us 96 owners (currently under an extended warranty) get another warranty? If we are under 40K miles???

Everyone,
I just spoke with Miriam Vaughn at Waldork Ford and Dodge, she was within $30 (Higher) than my post above on the standard extended warranty (max care) for cars still under the factory 3/36. However, she was dramatically LESS on the Added Care Plus with a $100 deductible for older cars. or 97, 98, and 99 cars out of warranty she was able to quote $1170 for the Added care 3/36 with a $100 deductible and $1390 for the added care 4/48. I believe this works for cars already under an extended warranty as well. I will try to verify.

The warranty I am referring to is not a DC product but rather for a DC product. As you may or may not know, many of the extended warranties out there are from providers rather than manufactures. The advantage is that they are usually more cost effective, and you still get to go to the dealer of your choice. In most ways you would never know the difference. As with all warranties, this can be created to take care of the majority of the issues, but in some cases will not be the best option. That is why sometimes even your local Dodge dealer sells an independent warranty verses a Chrysler one, simply because it meets the individuals needs better.

Ok, hope this helps clarify:
If your car is 3-5 years old, you may purchase an extended warranty (the Added Care Plus in lieu of the Max Care for cars under the factory warranty). This plan may be added to any car with or without an extended warranty. This merely adds 3/36 or 4/48 to the existing warranty (depending on the plan you choose).

If your car is 6,7,or 8 years old you may also get an added care plus plan. However, the pricing is as follows:

3/36 with $100 deductible: $1230
4/48 with $100 deductible: $1485.

Hope this helps!
You may contact Miriam Vaughn via email at [email protected] or call the dealership in Waldorf Maryland @301-843-2400.

Stevens Creek Dodge 408-248-1800 still had the best price for warranties on cars still under the factory warranty.

Hey Everyone,
BEFORE you start calling these guys to buy a warranty. WAIT TILL TOMORROW. I will have an update on a possible better price. I established a contact in Georgia through a fellow member. There seems to be some descrepencies on the pricing for Added Care warranties, however pricing on the Max Care seems to have won the bidding. So, hold on for a little bit longer and I will post an update sometime tomorrow.

Cool- I just spoke with Mike at Ringgold and bought a 4/48 added care warantee for my '95 RT/10 for $1485.00. Just thought I'd post this price cause it's lower than what was quoted in Smokin's last message about older cars. This is the best deal I've seen for old Gen I cars like mine.

I just bought a Max Care for my 99GTS (with the over-2-year-old premium) for $1270! I am really happy with this price myself.
