Your 20's increase your top speed. Also there is no need to accelerate at all in 6th gear, it is not made for that, downshift and go.

Do you want to get to the finish line quicker, or faster? Quicker requires traction, but your overall speed is diminished. At least that is how I feel about it.

I think your estimated HP may be a little high for your mod list.

Really? I thought 465-480rwhp seemed accurate, especially with a good tune for everything I already have and plan on getting...

Besides Heads or a more aggressive cam, what else for mods would I need to add onto what I already have and plan on getting to achieve 470-500rwhp?? I read some threads on throttle boddies, but heard those could actually lower your rwhp or at least at most possibly get 5-7rwhp, and their expensive so seem like a waste of money. At least with my current mods, I doubt they would help me at all.

Quicker and faster seem like the same thing to me!

I don't care about any finish line lol, I just want my car to be capable of accelerating from a dead stop to 60mph in under 4sec and run the quarter mile in the 11's. I would be content if that were possible :D

My "quick/fast" is like 1/8 mile compared to 1 mile run. Quick being 0-60 and fast just I'm hitting 170mph when your hitting 140mph.

Quick is you pulling 5 cars on me but I am passing you hard when your gears are running out. Gears would be like, quickest gear set pulls out harder but gets reeled in harder, a medium gear would pull out a few cars but the "stock" gear car would gradually catch up.

That is what my testing was like in Forza Motorsport. =P

I'm talking about the 550 to 570 estimate you gave. That's 100 hp from heads and cam. That seems a little high.

Oh ok.. well I figured if right now this summer with everything I listed I hit around 480rwhp, with heads and cam maybe giving around 80rwhp? That would put me like I said up around 550rwhp.. at least I thought. Either way it would still be a lot, but my main concern is right now. Does 470rwhp-500rwhp seem attainable through everything I will have? I'm still kinda deciding between American Racing Headers and Belanger, but am pretty much leaning towards Belanger now, especially since I'll save some money and they sound great. Regardless though, I would imagine either Header would give around the same HP gain anyway. It would be nice to break 500rwhp, but I doubt I will.

Which is why, as an addon to this I'm considering gears for the extra performance, but I know if anything it won't help rwhp numbers on the dyno.

My last dyno on a Dynocom was 446. Tubes filters Belangers 3" ceramic HF cats 3" Dynomax mufflers and a simple mail order tune. Oh, and horsepower robbing 3.73 gears. Getting to 480 with rockers - the difference between your list and my car - seems like a stretch unless you do some real tuning. And I thought heads alone were worth about 30 hp.

There's another thread going in the SRT forum about Paxton cars and 3.55's. 700 to 800 hp and everyone loves them. The gears that is.

I would hope heads and cam get over 560rwhp... LS7 can get that and more.

I use THIS to calculate what gears I want to go with.

I used this during my Forza Motorsport tests. The game is very accurate in helping me decide. A 5th gear swap helps you pull 2 cars on top end before the quicker 5th gear redlines and the stock catches back up.

You just got to think, at what point do I want the other car to catch up to me? (given they are same car/hp)

I think the fact that we don't spin high RPMS makes me want to keep stock gearing.
