RIP WARFANG. I just got my Snake, but the VCA community is much different from all the other's I've been in. His family will be in my prayers...

RIP WARFANG. The raffle (or donation) ideas are both good. But I don't see a reason she will have a problem selling this. The price is incredible for a solid condition GTS. And for someone who is on a budget. This would be a great (well known) car for someone. VS. just buying a manheim auction car off emotors, that needs money sunk into it immediately. Just my opinion. 50k miles is NOTHING for this car!!!! I would get some good pics, and advertise this nationally. It will be gone.

Take some pics, list it in the classifieds, autotrader, etc, and it will be gone in a matter of days.. Then, do the fund on top of that, to help his family out with the bills.. I'm in for a donation, just tell us where to send it.

Man this is tough to take. Warfang's viper was one to the first that I regularly saw around here. Seeing his car parked in Albany, CA one warm evening is what really turned up the fire and made me secure a Viper for myself. He had a long discussion one day with my son about the car at one point, really making his day. The kid came home all fired up about seeing a GTS up close, and commenting on its cool and hilariously irreverent owner. I only got to see him once on the road when we were both in our cars--fond memories of that, since it was shortly after my purchase. While our opinions were in and out of sync on this forum, I found his posts to be thought provoking and entertaining, enriched with alternate views regarding social issues in the local Norcal scene. He often spoke of the party line vs the reality--good stuff. I too, had heard that he was mulling over the idea of selling his car, then this. Sad news indeed. He will be missed. RIP Warfang.

Man, so sorry to hear this news. Warfang had a great sense of humor, and I loved the banter in any thread. When I posted a HVAC question on my Gen II, he posted a photoshopped pic of my car with an RV roof-style AC unit on the hatch!

It's funny how we have all gotten to know each other over the years, even though most maybe have never even met. Yet there is still a brotherhood and a respect for each other's opinions, even when we disagree.

RIP, man.

Wow, very surprising and unfortunate news.

The thing is, with the internet, there's often no idea when this sort of thing happens, which is too bad, people just disappear from forums, never to be heard from again...

It would be a fitting and thoughtful tribute and gift if we could have our VCA Forums webmaster/IT person download all of Warfang's commentary onto a memory key and/or CD and send one or more copies to his wife and family. If there is a cost involved, I would be willing to contribute to in part defray that cost.

Or have a WARFANG page on this site where we could easily browse his comments.

Lily Lee (Josh - Warfang's wife) would like to thank everyone for their love and support. She is reading the forum and is very touched by all the heartfelt messages about Josh. She is amazed at how many people knew him and liked him without ever meeting him in person.

Maybe someone can teach Lilly how to drive the GTS... We need more women driving Vipers!

Man! I just saw this. My heart just dropped! Warfang was my Apple Mac buddy! I can't believe this has happened. Another friend of mine died of the same thing about a month ago at 38. Man this is just horrible. Too many good people going to early. Auurghhh!

Okay folks, we have been chatting with Warfang's wife and finally have his beloved Viper posted in the VCA Classifieds:

A Viper for DRIVING like a Viper should be driven! - ViperClub Classifieds

It was a tough decision for her as this car represented so much of his life and his passion for living it. But she also knows that he would want it to stay on the road and the track, to be driven as it was designed to be driven.

Of course it doesn't matter where it is, it is a beautiful car that generates a very strong attraction. Here is a post by Josh back in 2005 that amazingly didn't get a single reply, yet says so much...

Rest in peace my friend, and may your Viper find the home it so richly deserves.

I wish me and Chuck could split custody of the car. It'd give me a reason to go to Tampa every other weekend and Chuck could keep it on the track while I kept it on the streets :) OPFVC-One Point Five Viper Chad kinda sorta has a ring to it :D

RIP Josh, you'll forever be missed around here!

Very nicely done Chris. I'm sure that took some time, which I'm sure is valuable to you right now. It's stuff like this that makes the VCA the best car club on the planet.

I hope it sells quick and continues to light up San Fran, just like Josh would want it.

OMG, I just heard about this tremendous loss to our community, 36 years young :(

This is a very sad day for the Viper Nation.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family!

Lets help his wife move that car

Hopefully someone will see this car or pass this information along to someone who is looking.

I am currently not far from the bay area. If anyone would like me to go look at the car for them I could certainly do so.
I could get under it, take many pictures, figure out what exactly all the mods are and let whomever know exactly what they are looking at. Or if you guys think it would help sell the car to get more info on it I could just do it for that reason. I would just need a little warning. Say the word!

I am half tempted to try and buy the car myself.
