All right, we just got the go ahead today. the problem has been that every time we identified a potential venue we were told it was not done or ready as this hotel is basically just opening. Soooo, they will actually be opening up a bar that is normally closed on Wednesday just for us.
The bar is the Overdrive Lounge at the Motor City Hotel and they will be opening it and staffing it for us on Wednesday from 5pm to 7pm. This Lounge is one floor up from the Reception area so it should be easy to find as you just follow directions for the reception and then go up one level in the elevator.
We won't have t - shirts as we were afraid to pull the trigger on those untill we found a place to have this and it is too late now but we WILL have the large nametags with your avatar and user name on them so you can ID that friend you have been talking smack with for years. I know there were a few (Sorry Bob) who wanted it on another night but this really was the only window to slide it in.
So, OVERDRIVE LOUNGE at THE MOTOR CITY 5-7 PM on Wednesday.
And if you check the shuttle schedule you may note there is a gap in shuttle service right at the time the MGM people would need to get over to the Motor City. I am assured that this is being taken care of and that there will be shuttles available at the time we need.

As far as the Bar goes, what is the policy for our better half/travel partner? Are they allowed in too? Will they get a badge/name tag with the avatar on it as well or do they just need to have their VOI credentials?

Bob, I knew you would not be able to make it and we really tried for Saturday as it was originally your idea, time frame just would not work with the final banquet that night and everyone driving back from Belle Isle. I personally would have liked to have met you.
