Short of Mr. Schillinger most of your friends offered good entertainment. Is your goal of 200 lbs attainable for a street machine? Yes absolutely. Let's start with rotating mass and as the saying goes, 1 lb of rotating weight is worth 10 lbs of vehicle weight. Stock rims weigh 22 to 26 lbs. Aftermarkets small help but you can get a rim down to about 20 lbs before breakage starts. Race tires are several pounds lighter. An entire wheel and tire package is maybe 20 to 30 lbs. Not much savings here. Brakes, a good weight loss available, up to 50 lbs. Brakeman, Stop-Tech, Dilussi all have good systems that can reliably stop you with less rotating and unsprung mass. OK flywheel and clutch, Tilton, about 40 lbs. Or 17 lbs with al flywheel, the way to go for a drag racer. Hood by SVSi weighs 12 lbs for street, stock is 87 lbs plus lifting hardware. Doors from Autoform without windows, about 50 lbs each side. Remove the stock doors and store them. Doors are about $600 each. Now if you want glass, add back a few pounds. Not much savings to be had in the windshield but the rear glass can be turned to Lexan for about 25 lbs. Five Star makes these. Seats, you can save about 20 lbs each side with Kevlar seats. If you are still needing more we can find another 100 lbs without changing the looks. Nitrous, super neat stuff (some experience) is one dimensional vs. weight which when reduced improves acceleration, stopping and cornering, reduces vs increases stress on the vehicle. Choice depends on your intentions of use. May the force be with you
