What aftermarket seats work well in GenI\'s?

Didn't want to hijack the most comfortable sport seat thread....

While I've got the interior of mine apart, I'm seriously considering new
seats, rather than recovering the original ones. Mine are in great shape,
but I don't find them particularly comfortable; I find that I keep sliding
down, as I need to incline the back to allow my feet to reach, yet still keep
my arms comfortable.

I'd like to know what aftermarket (Sparco, Momo, Corbeau, etc.) fit in a Viper.
Preferably something with a reclining back and which allows for harnesses, and
cloth, rather than leather. There don't seem to be any local shops which have
seats on display, and strictly catalog shopping for something like this is
iffy...

Thanks!

There's this peformance shop on TV HWY (Speed Concept) that has lots of Sparcos on display (in between Safeway and Harvy Marina).

I wouldn't buy there though since it is a total ricer crowd and the owner has never heard of customer service.

I think its easier to get brackets for mounting the Sparco seats.

However, I went with Suzuka seats. They are made from kevlar not fiberglass and for about the same price as the Sparco seats.

The down side was finding someone to make custom brackets. Turns out after searching I found a local guy that did a nice job on a set.

Talking with Sparco was like talking to a wall. IMHO

Hey Yves,
Thanks for the pointer; I'll have to stop by, if only to see what's available... Doesn't seem like anybody really has anything in stock; they just want you to look in a catalog. Heck, I don't need their shop to do that!
BadByte:
Suzuka seats? Are those from Cobra? How do you like them?
I'm looking for something which reclines, and with decent padding (some of the race seats look to be minimally padded, which is why I'd like to see them in person). I fractured C3 a few years ago, and my neck/back get stiff very quickly, so hence the need for the upgrade.
MauiViper:
My seats are grey, but I have no intention of selling them. I'll probably never use them again, but I have this strange obsession from my Porsche ****** days of always keeping every misc. bit in case I decide to go back to stock (which, come to think of it, I never have)....
BTW, I really like the look of the black wheels on your car. I've got stock '02 rims on mine, and was thinking of blacking them out, leaving the lips either polished or anodized red. Or some 20" HRE's when the wife's not looking.... ;)

DJ, what could i expect to pay for a set of Gen II seats? I would probably get them redone with new leather and maybe a logo so they wouldn't have to be in great shape. Bill
