I need to get my 2000 GTS track car re-stripped. I am going from silver to white. What material is the nose, hood and body made out of?

I don't know about all the body panels, but I strongly believe the hood and possibly some other body parts are made of a "plastic composite mold (PCM)". I'm not exactly sure, but I remember reading it in one of my Viper books a while ago. If there isn't another reply to this post, just e-mail me at [email protected]. I'll be back home and able to check the book on Monday.

I had a spot on my hood fixed, and the folks seemed knowledgable about Vipers, said the hood and doors/1/4s, deck lid were "SMC"...Can't recall what that stands for though...I believe the front and rear facia are different materials altogether, given how they flex...

These are some of the terms applied to the process of manufacturing several of the viper's "body" parts:

FRP - "Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic"
Glass Reinforced Polyester
Acrylic RTM Body Panels - "Resin Transfer Molding"
SMC - "Sheet Molding Compound"
Injection Molded Thermoplastic Olefin - "TPO"
Metal and Foam Core RTM Skinned Structural Panels
