Hey,
If Dodge would only listen to the comments from the 'weekend race warriors' in regards whats needed to make the perfect car....then the total production numbers would have probaly been stalled right at, or well below, 2700, instead of 27000 over the years.
Even though many do enjoy their cars on the track and run them as hard as they are designed to run, fact is that the relatively few (to the total number of Viper owners) that do, are not enough to support a line of cars.
In order for Dodge to sell some cars they have to make them somewhat usable and Stereo, A/C, heat, power windows and more, doesnt really take away from the car. It does what was (I think) intended with the concept to begin with....make a streetable 'race car'. A marriage of the two.
I for one, and probably many more, would not have considered a car that I couldnt take on a weekend trip due to the unfriendly nature of being set up for track racing.
Sure I love the sounds of a well tuned engine....but some great tunes at times can make the experience even better.
I say....Dodge should build the car as well as they can, with the best possible equipment, to sell it to the public, then let those that want to race it remove what they dont like...not the other way around.
