I believe that the new board also needs to reach out to some of the member who were run out of the VCA and off the forum and invite them back.

Regards,
Aaron

Agreed and I'm taking this one on. Based on the immediate priorities the board has on their plates this particular one is not on top of the list but it's a priority.

If it is once again an SRT related forum, it is understandable that swear words aren't allowed. The current, much looser moderated system allows for more fun, transparency and criticism. An example is Kratedisease. He has been trolling on here for a long time, just within the rules. The new looseness allows us to call a troll a troll, and not have to put up with his stupidity. Historically, this was one of the more spirited forums. A Viper buyer is a lot edgier than, say, a Prius buyer.

Personally, I don't mind the smack talk but it has to be within reason. The current posting policies don't really allow for smack-talk especially when it comes to name-calling. But that can change to something that allows for spirited discussion without family takes, swearing or threats. At some point the posting policies will need to evolve from what they are today and this can only happen in a fair manner if the board receives input from site users.

Hey Tony, does that mean we can mention JonB and partsrack again? I got a slap down(not by you), by one of the other moderators and felt like the old regime was back at it.

Yes. In an attempt to move forward it;s OK. There's still the issue of mentioning and promoting (intentionally or not) a non-site sponsor the forums i.e. but lets see how it goes.

I gotta tell you I'm not a fan of moderation. Maybe 'moderation' is not a good word for this scenario but I understand what you're saying here. However,

There are currently 3 moderators. Two wish to remain anonymous due to threats, stalking, etc. <- Sometimes this stuff happens. I am one of the moderators. If I use the VCA Forum Staff account for notification, you'll know it's me because I sign my name and/or use the following symbol in the signature: ( . )( . ) :D I am also an Admin here but my admin privileges are relegated to user and vendor account setup.

As for admin privileges, the site programmer is the admin. No officer is a moderator or admin, any longer.

Wow. Two moderators wish to remain "anonymous"? Seriously?

Sounds like they are not cut out to be moderators.

I have cruised many many forums and i have NEVER seen a forum where the mods needed to be anonymous.

There were several folks that left here as moderators. I believe there was some RW stuff. Don't underestimate the determined evilness of someone who feels "wronged", and can "easily" find out your identity. Identities are pretty well concealed on the Alley and not so much here.

Hopefully that can change as people feel comfortable / safe.

Wouldn't you want to remain anonymous if you had controlled the site the way they have.

Exactly why I would love to have a forum where we must use our real identities. It would totally get rid of the web warriors, trolls and blowhards. Everybody is very brave when they get to hide behind their laptop.

Cheers,

Been SO long since I've taken any interest over here. I had become so terribly disgusted with the behavior of so many that I was fearful my continued involvement would cause me to reek of their stench by any association. Far too much history for me (as a leader and moderator). Regardless, I am impressed and pleased with several in this thread. As suggested, (among others) Tony has reached out to me to get back involved. I've been most hesitant, not truly trusting his intent, nonetheless, I am encouraged with all his efforts. It is the moral obligation of those in authority to avoid precisely what the VCA national Board members have done! I might spit in their faces if I didn't have such high regard for my sputum.

I have this background suspicion that most everyone is being played by the supposed good guys, and your comment egged me on. I wish I had the faith, and maybe with honest changes, I'll see the light.

Thank you for the answer. From what I've been told, that is a small step in the right direction and I hope things work out for the club. Now that I'm a proud Viper owner, if things are resolved to the satisfaction of current and past members, I will join as a paying member.

Good to hear, but how exactly will they receive this input? Should we start posting polls, like "Who wants the 'Owner' status back" and "How do you want your National Officers Elected"? It seems one of the major problems in the first place was the the *** being out of touch with the Viper community and not listening to the early warning signs the members were trying to tell them about. Are they reading these threads now?

One idea floating around is to create a Forum to collect all of these VCA-business related threads so they can be found in one place and responded to in one place. I don't believe it should reside under the members' only section since these issues/questions/ideas affect both members and non-members and the responses should be visible to all. This is something I will raise at the next board meeting next week.

Yes, the board members are seeing these threads. Board members include the DALs, ZD's and national officers. The input on this site has been making its way to the board and into board discussions. It's a good thing.

That's OK. I don't completely trust you either. :D But in the end you and I try to do the right things. I love you man!

I think what a lot of people need to realize is that this is a car club. That means this isn't a full time job, so it's going to take time to get things sorted out. Meetings have to be held when the right people can be present, and if anyone has a regular job, that means they have to find a time when everyone has free time, not an easy task if you have to get a lot of people together.

I'm guessing that they're probably trying to sort everything out first and make one big update that they'll supply to members in one go as opposed to giving little bits here and there of what they're thinking about changing. That also helps cover their back if they tell people that they're thinking about doing "thing X", but end up changing their minds after further discussions. There's a lot to discuss and I'm guessing a lot of people don't want to devote every free waking moment they have to a car club, so please everyone, have some patience and trust your leaders. Stuff is happening, but change takes time, even more so if big changes are happening.

Agree with your "guessing MoparMap" BUT why doesn't someone say hold on we are working on this ....we have a meeting planned ??, whatever, all we hear is speculation from posters on here, they should at least release something for the "masses" ??!!

Hey ViperTony...this was originally posted by " AFL in NJ "....I thought it was a great idea. Was just wondering how you felt about it and if this was being addressed by ***.

" I'd like to see five levels on the forum:

Supporting Vendor
Vendor
VCA Member
Owner
Enthusiast

and there should be different levels of conduct and posting abilities for each. For instance, a supporting vendor should be able to post not only prices, but tech help. A Vendor should be able to provide technical assistance and how-to articles, but should not be able to post prices nor links to their site. A VCA Member should have more rights to post (even links to ebay) than an owner or enthusiast. "

I believe that these levels would solve a lot issues between competing vendors posting info on the site as well as giving paying members a stronger sense loyalty towards the club and it may even sway past movers into rejoining....

The board has been meeting every weeks, sometimes twice a week in addition to discussions happening between board members outside of meetings daily if not hourly. If there's one positive in all of this it's that the board is working together, has come together to right this ship and get the facts out. There are weekly board meetings scheduled for the foreseeable future.

None of the "issues" facing this board are easy to resolve. First, and foremost, we have to keep our emotions in check. We don't want to be in the mode of "Shoot! Ready! Aim!". We also, and more importantly, are performing our own, unfiltered due diligence to get the facts before we shoot. I'm operating in a trust but verify mode. It's not to discredit anyone but too many discrepancies have popped up over the last few weeks especially when it comes to the status of our relationship with Chrysler. We're not assuming anything at this point. Performing this due diligence takes time.

For example, I'd like to able to answer some questions about the VPA but the board has never seen a contract for the people working for the VPA. So how can we accurately answer compensation questions if we simply don't know the actual number if that's even possible to disclose personal information? <- yeah, I know it sounds insane but it's what is. Or warehouse space? We don't know what the address of the warehouse is. Or where the tooling is stored in Detroit, or a list of the actual tooling itself. I'm not insinuating that there's something corrupt in the VPA here but how can the board stand behind something it has little to no verified information about? We simply cannot take things for granted anymore or assume anything. Period.

The worst thing we can do at this point is take drastic action on a matter that we have little information on in the name of "the board must do something now!". The board wants to inform the Viper community of the facts and we're not going to do that until we have them verified.

Additionally, we cannot make decisions without the input of the regional presidents IMO and our members. These threads are being read by some board members and officers. The ideas are making their way to us. They do get discussed. It's all good and keep them coming!

I can say with certainty that the VCA relationship with SRT is indeed damaged and no longer what it used to be. But it is indeed repairable. I know this because the board finally heard directly from a trusted source at SRT who has confirmed a number of positive things and some negative things. This is the first time I've received direct, unfiltered information from Chrysler.

There's a weekly board meeting every Tuesday night. I'll check with Maurice if we can publish the agendas here so folks can see what we're discussing. I fully realize that the agenda (without more details) can cause even more speculation but hopefully the board members will start posting here more details as they become more comfortable with the facts.

There has to be some initial bleeding that can be stopped. Sounds like more trouble against Ralph is still going. There are a few that need to be removed ASAP. As some one said earlier the assets of the club need to be secured too.

Lee just send out a bunch of letters...suspended Jim Johnson, accepted the apparent resignation of Randall Arnold and then suspended him, he moved Dan Everts to VP and then to President. Oh lucky us, somehow Lee gets to clean house on his way out. This will be my last year as a VCA Member. DONE!

As an FYI, I submitted my resignation to the board as Northeast Director at Large. There's nothing more I can possibly do on this board so I'm removing myself from that equation. Thank you everyone for your support.

To anyone who isn't aware.

LEE HAS NOT AND WILL NOT RESIGN! In fact, he has now removed from office and banned anyone who has been actually having open discussions with anyone else. This includes Randall, Maurice, and probably Tony by the time I write this. He is cleaning house of anyone and everyone who knows his shady dealings, instead of stepping down like he originally said. NOTHING will be changing at the VCA except the fact that the VCA is OVER. Lee has gone completely rogue and is doing everything possible to shut anyone up who knows anything. The problem is, A LOT of NEW information is flowing on the other Viper sites. After these current moves, you can be 100% sure that there are some really bad things that they cannot afford to have known, and the relationship with Chrysler/SRT is 100% dead (I'm sure they have already been made aware of Lee's latest dictator moves).

I URGE YOU TO CONTACT YOUR LOCAL PRESIDENTS IMMEDIATELY AND GET THE FULL STORY (OF WHAT HAS BEEN RECENTLY DONE) AND TELL THEM THAT YOU 100% EXPECT THEM TO WITHDRAW FROM THE VCA AT THIS VERY MOMENT! There are already additional directors and founding VCA officers resigning and cutting ties (and not with very good language to Lee either).

Please check the other sites and see for yourself. If anyone needs to reach me after this, I go by the same user name on the other sites. Something tells me I will not have access to this site within a few minutes of posting this.
