Many of the car shows I participate in, with either the 03 Viper or the 07 Superbee, are for charitable causes, from local food banks, to the Boys and Girls Club of Wilmington, DE.

The purpose of the thread is to see who has participated in a charity event and in what type of event. That data might give some ideas to those who have not done so.

I participate in an event called Rides and Smiles. Rides on a road course are given to children who are in treatment for cancer and/or who have recently completed treatment ;and, some of the military and their children from Homestead Reserve Air Force Base. They each, health permitting, get to go over 100 MPH and get a certificate at the end of the day and a "goodies bag".

Here is a link for those who wish to see a video and some photos. The event was this past weekend. First we had a car show for the military on Friday. The rides were given at Homestead Speedway's road course on Saturday.

It is a wonderful feeling to see the smiles. Some of the children have been through hell and back. Thank G-d they survived.

Me most of the time :)

R.A.F. Headley Court, taking wounded troops out for Joy rides, a couple of times a year.
Taking this guy out in the Viper was particularly special for me. http://www.backbenparkinson.co.uk/Home_page_Back_Ben_Parkinson.html
Little Havens Children's Hospice, raising monies by giving Joy rides on a auto course.
The Children's Trust, giving joy rides around the top Gear test track at Dunsfold Surrey the whole weekend.

The Viper always seems to put smiles on peoples faces.

Kids at car shows always seem to have questions. I always let them sit in my Viper if they want. They are the next generation who will own, keep, drive, and restore these cars.

I need to find a few like these in this area. I'd be game to go play with the kids/vets this way.

This past September I participated in an event called Cruise For Cancer in Duluth, MN. All proceeds go to a local cancer patient.

Really fun event for a worthy cause.
