Pahrump is a very technical and demanding 2.2 mile circuit. Good elevation changes and very complex curves make this a difficult track to figure out within a weekend. The only wall is pit wall on the short front straight. There is a deep trench on each side before the end of the front straight, but it is not in a critical area and really doesn't come into play. The landscape is ****** high desert, so if you go off the track you will slide a long way, get your car very dusty, and you may run over some rocks large enough to hurt your front fascia. Most racers don't like the track, but they are usually the ones who tend to run off the track frequently. It's one of my favorite desert courses, and you'll definitely improve your driving skills. Have Rupert Bragg Smith give you a hot lap inside his Z06.

Well, I did ViperDays there last season and had a blast. Stay at the Pahrump Nugget hotel. The track itself feels like a big autocross setup, not exactly like a road course IMO. You're almost always in or setting up for some sort of turn. Its quite fun though and I didn't think it took long to get down. But DON'T go off the track. There is "runoff", but I thought it more appropriate for my 4wd Durango than my Viper. I believe some even punctured tires on their OTEs - thats how rough it is. Oh, and the corner workers were CRAP, but YMMV.

Also, beware of the tortoises,

Evidentally they sometimes decide to cross the track. Oh, and Rupert is quite a colorful character (the track owner).

Parump gets my vote as the best track i've driven in the WEST.
i have been there with VD's & also the Pantera Group. If you get the opportunity take Ruperts Driving school. Very technical track. it has been sometime since i've raced there. have fun.

I'll be taking the driving school there the end of April. I'm hoping it will be in a Z06. If not, it will be a regular C-5
