Perhaps with so much emphasis on mods these days can answer your question. It sure looks like a beautiful vehicle. Price might be a little high for an '02.

The more I look at it, I wonder the same. :usa:

The only reason for a great looking viper like that is, that its winter and there arn't too many people in the market.

Im not too sure many Vipers are selling right now. It does look like a nice car and a good deal. Its also not red, and has black interior. I actually have my car for sale as well at a price I believe is very reasonable and have no interest. I was going to sell mine since its so nice and get a somewhat higher mile forged engine car to do a TT build on. But Im not going to give it away either, with what I could get for it right now I starting to feel I would be better off just swapping the pistons and keeping what I have.

Bottom line is the market ***** right now, so as a buyer you might as well take advantage of the situation. I just cant figure out why the TT cars for sale seem to have such high asking prices when compared to what a Heffner or a UGR build would cost in addition to the purchase price of this car...........

Huh, that car would get my attention. Graphite is a great color combo on the car. My fav is Sapphire, but Graphite or the FE schemes are tight behind it.

Times are tough. Wait for the Fed the continue to massage the interest rate. Barring unforseen world events, our economy is strong and in a year or two people will be buying things again.

I can answer that (at least in my case). If you were to take a stock 2000 RT/10 and have Heffner's twin turbo package installed and then add all the other stuff done to my car, it would cost a lot more than my asking price. Also, you would have to wait a few months to get the work done. Or, you can buy a turnkey twin turbo Viper like mine. Check it out: FOR SALE

This may come as a shock but there are a lot of people who aren't crazy about a grey sports car too.
Rare color or not.

^Hey, I take offense to that statement!^jk
I kind of agree with though. While I love my steel grey color, as well as countless others when they see it in person, the market for colors other than red, blue or black doesn't seem to be there.

2008 VIper coming out might have a lot to do with it. With its more aggressive style it is now competing with the GTS for looks.

I was wondering the same thing. When I was looking for a graphite car anything like that if it was nice would go quick especially at that price which is very good. I agree, there must be something wrong with that car if it is still sitting. :dunno:

I too would love to hear if anybody knows that car. I am surprised Bernie hasn't grabbed it by now.

I think the market is just flooded with more $45-60k supercars than ever (RT/10, GTS, Z06, even some SRT-10 for $57-$60k). I just sold my '02 FE GTS 7,500 miles for $56k. Seems like it is priced right - just a bad time to sell. I believe the the housing/credit crunch has some impact, also, as last week's consumer confidence #s were the lowest in years... IMHO.

you might be right...I always thought the Graphite/Silver stripe combo, was on the list of most "in demand" color combos. If this were Saphire/Silver... I would seriously consider picking a 2nd GTS up.. No way Im giving up my Yellow GTS.:)

I agree, it is a buyers market right now.. I dont think there is anything wrong with the car. Just a slow market,,

The market is flat right now, yes. However, the selling technique they are using is going to generate little or no interest.

First, the starting bid is way too high. You have to put it in low to get the *** stirring.

Second, the 'Buy it now' price kills the auction. I never set a Buy it now, just set a reserve to keep the auction interest alive. A real buyer will find a way to contact you with an offer if he really wants to 'buy it now'

Just my .02 cents, I've had several successful high ticket items sell on ebay, with very active bidding, including a '94 Lightning.

You can buy an 03-04 with about the same miles for less money.....that's probably why it hasn't sold. Also....this is the time of the year when people are going crazy spending money, and going into debt for the Holy Days.......their minds aren't on cars until after the first of the year.

I wasnt referring to a car like yours. Your car definately has everything. I was talking about buying just a car like the one in this thread for 50K, with vey low mileage, and then shipping it to Heffner where according to his website he will do a 900hp built motor/TT build for 39K. The ones I have seen for sale with more mileage seem to still be at 90K asking, but I guess those just have more done to them.

Good luck with selling your car, I just think the market really ***** right now.

I agree with the above posters - price might be a little high and the auction setup is not the best for generating interest.

If I didn't like my 99 so much, I would go look at it since it is here in Houston. I love that color combo myself.

Blu, I have to respectfully disagree on both points...

The starting bid, is the starting bid.. Doesnt matter if its 1 cent or $55,995.... Anyone seriously "in the market" for a Viper GTS, will contact the seller about this car, if the starting bid is within, what they would be willing to pay.... There is no *** stirring needed.. No one browsing Ebay, decides, I might buy a Viper Today.. Someone browsing Ebay is either a serious buyer, looking for a Viper. Or, a time waster/bottom feeder(about 90% of Ebay'rs), that doesnt have the resources and/or desire to buy a Viper, just wants to send you a few emails... If a phone number is listed, a SERIOUS buyer will call. Ive sold a dozen cars on Ebay. This has always been the case..
The car will not sell through the auction process. It will sell when the serious buyer, calls you..

The buy it now price is a MUST....... Why?? It gives "the market" an "indication" of what you would like to get for the car.. If I were to see this car w/o a buy it now price. I would assume a $63k reserve on it, and most likely scroll right by.. The "buy it now" price lets everyone know where you stand, as far as "asking" price.. Always set the "buy it now" a slight bit higher, than you'd be willing to take..

Bottom line, Ebay is just an advertising tool. Just like the classifieds.. The serious buyer, will NOT go through the actual, auction process..

Prices are in the toilet now.
I probably over paid for the B/W I purchased recently, but it had only 8K on it, was stored by a collector and it was exactly what I wanted. I think if the car your selling is exactly what someone wants, you'll get a decent price. But if it's run of the mill (like my red GTS) it's either give it away or keep it till spring and hope the prices rise. Plus it's winter, who is looking for a used Viper now?

I feel sorry for the guys who dumped a ton of money into their car, like a turbo and they are trying to sell them for 80K....good luck. Tough sell with the new 08 factory warrenteed in that range.
