I like the look of the gauge trim rings for the SRT, but why are they so expensive? I'm not trying to be cheap. I spend money impulsively quite often, but the price for these seems excessive. Is there something I am not seeing? Maybe there is a source that has them priced more reasonably.

Thanks

I had them on my '03, I can say they were like everything I've gotten from MGW the past 10+ yrs, awesome. They are true aluminum and perfectly finished. Now, would I like them to be under $100, yea, on a normal car like my stang, I'd expect something like this to run $75-$85. Maybe it's the low volume that makes the cost per unit higher. Now I need a set for my new (to me) GenIV .... group buy anyone ;o)

Just bought some. They are not cheap because they are not made cheaply. The quality is very high.

And people are not exactly blowing up MGW's website to purchase them either. High quality, low production, "accessory" part (key word is accessory) sometimes equals high cost.

I bought the MGW cup holder bezel and it is high quality. However, neither of the available finishes (Chrome or Pearl Bright) really match anything else in the Gen III interior. "Pearl Bright" is basically a flat, pewter-look silver paint or powder coat. If they really wanted to match the Viper, this part needs to be machined from stainless and left raw (to match the shift boot trim ring). Or, a true CNC aluminum bezel with black anodizing would look good, IMO. The other alternative is to order their chrome shifter bezel and other chrome plated bezels to match that, although at much more cost.

In the end went after the Pearl Bright finish for about 20 minutes with some 1500 (!) grit sandpaper and got it to an approximate sheen to the stock stainless shifter boot trim ring. I basically polished off about 90% of the pearl bright until the base metal was just starting to show thru, and now it doesn't look so out of place in the "cupholder" (AKA ashtray holder). I like the look now, but shouldn't have to do mods to finishes on these kinds of parts.

Agree, you should be able to order one in the final finish you actually want. Maybe next time..
