Wuss in Z06 wants no part of the Viper on way home today . . .

Driving home from work and notice a yellow Z06 turned onto the road behind me. I drive nice and slow so he can catch up, give him a look and invite him for a short go from a roll (we had some distance but would have caught traffic pretty quickly). First off, he had tint so dark I couldn't even see him, and second the girly-Z06-man did not want anything to do with a beat-down from the Viper. Three months with my Viper and no action! What the heck do I have to do in this town to get a little race action?

Go where the ricers are, they talk crap all evening about their sub 11 sec Hondas with NOS. I bet just about every single dude with a wing wants a piece of your as$!!

I did it and currently none of them harass me anymore, they all give me a wave on highway. I even went with them to the racetrack and served them steamed and fried rice....


So now I have to figure out another way of entertaining myself

I have had mine since 7/12 and my 1st serious race was just at the end of September vs a STOCK 03 Cobra - an easy victory. I told him to pulley down, get exhaust and a CAI and we can try again later.

Be careful with Z06s, my buddy has one with just a catback that runs 12.4@116 and with Nitrous EASY low 11s.

Question 1: for yell03: Why would ANYONE replace the TITANIUM cat back section of the Z06 exhaust? Spend a few grand for something better, yes. What's better than a Titan exhaust?

Question 2: for Phoenix: If the tint was so dark, how do you know it wasn't a girl instead of a girly man?

Trolling for a street race is so easy, I can't see why anyone in a Viper would need to wait more than 5 minutes to find one. I'm talking hondas, not Z06's. It gets so annoying I don't even bother anymore, I just take the car to the drag strip and let the numbers do the talkin.

Last time I rolled up on a Z06, he was slowing down to run me. I have dark tinted windows and didn't see him as much of a challenge. He must have thought similar things as you did Phoenix! I just wasn't in the mood...for another 6 point ticket!

Be careful with Z06s, my buddy has one with just a catback that runs 12.4@116 and with Nitrous EASY low 11s.

That is why I was so excited. It would have been a fair fight. Sure I would have posted how I clubbed a baby seal on the way home from work for my first kill, but it would have been so fun.

I could kind of see the outline of the driver and they were sitting very tall in the car so I don't think it was a lady. Just some guy too chicken for a two second race to spice up a Thursday.

I'm going out with my buddy who has a Ferrari 360 tomorrow, so at least I can run him for some fun.

The problem with street racing some of these guys is that they don't let up at a reasonable distance or speed.

I hate to let off and brake for traffic ahead and have the other guy go on past, weaving through traffic at high speed.

I don't much care if the then thinks that he beat me. He knows that isn't really the case.

I just don't like to think of what would happen if he crashed into someone and witnesses said, "he was racing that guy in the black Viper".

I have a buddy w/ a 360, and although we have not "run", his car feels very fast from 100MPH and up. (I also happen to think it is a beautiful car)

hahaha please film this if it happens. My roomate just got a 94 bpu TT Im sure we will bump them off with my 01 rt10 with basic upgrades. Ive driven his, I'm thinking its going to be a landslide in my favor. Chances are he is talking about alot of redicolous single turbo supras that will walk the dog on your average viper. Im tired of all these guys having all the fun, I guess I'm going to have to boost mine also.

He doesn't like to race, but I'll try and talk him into it. Oh and get this, his F360 has a 75 shot on is so he always has that in his back pocket.

Regarding Supras, I've mentioned on this board my rules for Vipers racing Supras: 91 octane pump gas and street tires and let's go.

2) if a guy drives up next to me in a Z06 in a safe situation and I won't have a 2-3 second go with him for fun on a boring Thursday, then buying a Viper was the stupidest thing I have ever done in my life (and vice-versa);

I'll race you on street tires (don't own anything else) and 91 octane if you like. I'll warn you my car makes ~650 RWHP at ~ 18PSI which is what I run on pump gas

Ditto... I don't know if it's "not being in control", or "not bracing the steering wheel for additional support", or "not knowing when the gas/brake/acc. will happen. Probably a combination of all three.... But I agree 100%. Cars feel so much faster when you are in the passenger seat. That's why I always need to test drive the car to get rate it's performance. Has he ever let you behind the wheel of the 360? That's the only way to tell, IMO...

So my paralegal gives me a ride up to the foo foo grocery to grab some lunch and lo and behold there is the "wuss" driving up in his yellow Z06. Well he gets out and let's just say the guy is buff! ***** like Fabio. My skinny-a$$ kept quiet for sure. So although I'm not sure if he likes the boys or not, he's is definitely not a "wuss" in the regular sense of the word (a previous poster seemed concerned about this). Gave me a little chuckle for a boring Tuesday.
