Wondering if others with these rotors are experiencing this? I definitely just started to experience it in the sense felt like I was getting a rattle or something loose every time I hit a bump. I also get some vibration above 70mph. I then realized if I applied the brake over bumps, all...
Yet, another uninformed post. Please look at the sales #'s for the gen3's. They had the highest marks other than one gen2 year. Gen4 virtually same design, but sold very low #'s for many reasons, but boring design was not one of them. Please, look up your #'s.
So very true. I personally like the looks, but even if I did not, I would know I was purchasing a car "out of date" without them. For example, I would not buy a NEW car today without LED tail lights, HID headlights and LED front signature lights because I my as well tell the world I paid money...
come on now, the car did not lose the test due to HP. It lost due to handling and braking. Now was it all tire or brake pad, suspension tuning or combo of all? But it was not a shortage on power. I know the ego would love to say "I got 700hp", but lets keep the focus on where the problem...
Did you watch the same show? Have you not seen the show before? They do the same formula for each car and not intended for the guy that has already studied every aspect of the car. I think a good enteraining show and more importantly shows it visually w/commentary. All good.
One big...
Thanks for the video. Couple things come to mind for me:
1) How lucky we are for two companies that were on the verge of disaster to have updated versions of their best cars
2) For two cars so similar (american built, front motor, rear drive, big HP, etc), it is amazing how different they...
Seems like way more passion and opinions dominating this post vs facts.
1) Viper was never the performance king is a fact. If just going to use the Ring as the qualifier then when have no data to reference with the new GenV car for this so no way of knowing yet.
2) The C63 BS (Black...
Good to see and educational post on here. So glad not to see any of the "It needs 700hp, wide-body, differentent headlights, my ACR is better, wouldn't sell my gen2 for it" crew chimng in to get us out of the deadly "mediocre" category...
Sorry, couldn't help as my frustration built up...
Might be the dumbest car test I have ever seen... thinking about it more, not sure what would even be close. Who in the market for these cars cares about this?
For me, I kept the factory mufflers and crossover, but replaced factory cats w/hi-flow cats. Heat problem in footwells gone, much better idle sound, but not super loud at full song and zero drone at any rpm.
So:
if wanting to reduce heat and mild increase in sound, replace factory cats...
ZR1 is not good lap after lap in this category, thus the reason you rarely see them on the track. 911Turbo is also not the track porsche of choice either. Veyron on a track??? I am just saying if you want a track beast, then know Forced Induction is much more trouble than it is worth...
Confused by your Forced induction for an ACR. If using for a track car (the purpose of the ACR), then you do not want forced induction. I am assuming you just really want more power, but forced induction is a heatsoak problem waiting to happen after 5 hard laps.
where are you getting the 160k figure?
You can get loaded SRT model for <110k and a GTS for 130k and those are MSRP #'s.
Sure, there are other choices at that price range (or any range you pick), but the HP and 0-60# is not going to decide it for most. That is left to be in the hands of...
Wow, the tough times we live in when a new introduced 640hp car signals that we are doomed. It is so bad that it is forcing folks to buy a GTR or a used ACR. Wouldn't it be nice to actually evaluate the car on it true overall merits as a car compared to its competition and not silly 0-60 and...
As ACRucrazy says really well "More power, more torque, lighter flywheel, better driveline, short shifter, less weight, better tires, better electronics and driver controls with launch control", so do you really need to see an article that tells you it is faster?
Re: I'm just gone go ahead and say it....
Have you seen one in person? 6 vents in hood does not make you faster, so all I could do was laugh reading the post. I can only assume that was the purpose, a joke right?
Re: Convertible option for 2014....???
I don't think the GenV was designed as a coupe. It have virtually the same frame (with mods for strength/weight) as the Gen4 and as you say, that was for a conv. I think the only thing we can say is that the coupe was the first GenV version delivered...
Very well said.
As someone who's daily driver is an E55 AMG (which is quicker than the E63 models) as stated in many publications as a 0-60 in 4.1 and 12.2 qtr (both of which I would only know via a magazine), it really is an odd comparison to me. Don't get me wrong, this E55 is the best...
Yes, exactly how you state on the taxes in our state and many others. The deal is you already paid tax on that 50K car, so when you trade it in, it is not simply a down payment, but an auto that has already paid its tax down payment. Then, when the dealers sells your trade-in, the new buyer...
I am looking for a scissor lift for my garage. Before those recommendations come in, I don't feel I have the space for a 4post, 2post or 1post setup. I do want a compact unit I can move around if need be, park over (low clearance) so not seen and have good height variability up to 4ft...
