The cooler cats were not as significant as removing the crossover. Corsas with the hiflo cats should be a good combination for keeping drone out while enjoying improved performance and more sound.
Great to see this kind of service. Bernie may have gotten something from the dealer that sold the Viper (he should). Vipers are not easy cars to sell. They're looking for special owners.
When I lived in Houston, I had some body work done at Tomball's. I believe the shop is just down and over at the Ford dealership. The work and service was very good.
I wouldn't trade in a Viper for one unless I had to but the Challenger is a great machine. As a second car I took the SRT8 300 over the Challenger for slightly more practical reasons (and better buy) although I wouldn't have if I didn't have the Viper. Try cleaning the 300! I'm getting old...
What I can tell you for a Gen III is that a stock exhaust without the crossovers mated to headers and hi flo cats will give you unwanted drone. I believe the Gen IV will be better in this respect with the different intake cam/head setup.
A used Gen IV set will work fine for reducing heat without the drone. Going to Hi Flo cats will increase drone. I don't know if having Corsas and Hi Flo cats will eliminate the drone. I believe others have said it does. My firsthand experience with stock system without crossovers and mixing...
