No trade for a Challenger... TOO BIG TO CLEAN...

I had thought (not too seriously, but thought) about trading my Viper for a new Challenger 392 Hemi SRT-8. Well, I just go done washing, waxing and cleaning my wife's Challenger. Crap that car is BIG... I can do the same thing to the Viper in about 1/4th of the time and effort. It reminded me of how long it used to take me to detail my 1971 Charger R/T. BS, I am too old to put forth that much effort--I'm spent. She can detail it next time!

I always thought the Viper was a pretty big car until I bought it (yea I bought it without ever even driving one, pretty stupid huh) & got it home next to the Porsche, it was a good bit smaller than I thought it was. I had a friend (RIP) that had one when they first came out, but I didn't remember it being as small as it was. On the Gen I & II's when you get through with the hood (cleaning them) you're pretty much done. JMO

I got my wife a plum crazy SRT-8, and I had to drive it from Nashville to Abilene, Texas. Somewhere on that trip I really started to like it. The car is very smooth, quiet and you really have to keep an eye on the speedometer. It felt like the exact opposite of my Viper, but just as fun and almost as fast. The A/C is ice cold, I love the satellite radio and the brakes are awesome. I'm not sure I'd trade the Viper for one, but it does seat 4 and it's nice on long trips.

I wouldn't trade in a Viper for one unless I had to but the Challenger is a great machine. As a second car I took the SRT8 300 over the Challenger for slightly more practical reasons (and better buy) although I wouldn't have if I didn't have the Viper. Try cleaning the 300! I'm getting old but still doing it.
