Speed TV Test Drive: SRT GTS w Kendall and Andretti

Pretty dam meaty looking steering wheel! Engine note sounded great too.

Belanger headers with Corsa = winner; new wheels too

Looks great! Stock suspension? (doesn't look like it)

Put the Viper motor in the 300.

The handling wouldn't be quite as good if the weight distribution moved towards the front. Obviously the V10 is longer and sits up further to the front; question is, is it lighter than the 6.4 (cast iron block)? All this aside, the cool factor of this SRT10 300C is pretty high! Thx for the pics.

CarAndDriver - Gen 5 vs Gen 2 Viper

What stood out to me were the hood and trunk gaps in the Gen V; unacceptable for a car in that price range. Hopefully SRT has addressed that for the production cars.

Video... GenV Looks Mean... Sounds Pissed Off!!!

That exhaust note is speaking to me........

Totaled Viper 2 days after buying it...

You were driving on summer tires in winter weather and wide ones at that which in wet weather is a horrible combination. Hard tires like the runflats even worse. You're practically skating on ice. 80 mph plus swerve in these conditions = no traction. Even if it wasn't wet, I wouldn't have...

    Solid deal on 09 ACR

Sports cars especially like these tend to be impulse buys. The Viper doesn't suffer sissies easily!

    Pilot sport tires

Yep - mine does it big time with any sharp turns on my still original runflats. It's a bunch of hard rubber that just doesn't squirm nicely under hard turning. I know, I know - they will get replaced.

    My new Viper.

I like the interior but I didn't think the factory offered that interior color option; wasn't it more of a beige?

Battery Tender question for 09 ACR

I have several Battery Tenders for all my machines - work flawlessly.

    Long drives in a Viper

Have to get used to the lack of cruise control for the long haul but I had a 2001 Vette Vert with cruise control and would take my current 05 Viper over it any day for a long drive.

    Another Viper strike...

Yes, I did. Made me want one bad; too bad it's out of my financial league.

    Belanger Exhaust Packages

Herc, you have the Corsas and it drones with those?

2003 (Gen III) - To Change or not to Change (Timing chain)

I have about 30K miles on mine - no issue at all. Maybe after a 100K miles the chain might stretch a little and affect the timing some.

    Vipair Coil Overs Installed!

So these are stock replacement? Nothing to add, modify, cut, re-route, etc. ? The height adjustment can be changed?

    Viper interior comparison

This can also depend on your proportions: If you have a tall upper body, the lowering kits obviously would help but if you longer in the inseam dept, then the lowering kits will be of little value.

    Removing crossover....tone change?

I found this to be true also but the cabin heat was still a problem despite hi-flo cats. When I took the crossovers out, the drone and loudness went up significantly but the cabin heat (even in footwell area) went down significantly. I dumped the headers/cats and went back to factory but still...

Gen 4 Exhaust On My Gen 3

Drone won't bother you? It was pretty excruciating to me but I did have headers at the time.

A few pics of the new car

Looks sick just like your blue one did but I do like stripes. Are you thinking of adding white stripes or are you going for the clean solid look?

GEN V Viper Meet and Greet - Dec 21, 2012

Looks like Ralph was showing off the traction nannies the Gen V has. These can be driven in bad weather without crashing! Of course it helped that there wasn't much snow on the ground. :omg:

    Stryker Red

Kudos to you. When the color means that much to you, you should get it. Fortunately you doing well enough to afford it even though you would rather pay less, I'm sure. I like the color a lot myself and would probably get it if I could easily afford it. That color will certainly stand out to...

    Leasing Options...For Gen V?!?

It comes down to the money factor or interest rate. With cost of money so cheap these days we should see good leases, especially if the manufacturer wants to sell more cars. I generally find three year lease payments comparable to 6 or 7 yr finance payments. I think you're better off with the...

Cruising Engine RPMs, Gears & Gas Mileage

Don't let it drop below 1000 rpm but you can cruise with gentle throttling just above that.

How many are waiting on a Gen V Vert?

Shall it be manual or power? I vote manual.
