The Viper is located in Denver, CO
It is at a Mercedes Dealership
Was likely a trade-in and they made so much $$ on the new car sold that they can easily afford to sell the snake at near-trade-in value. Its sometimes easier to offer for sale for a week or two before shipping it off to...
Cool. Get one and let us know how it works out for you.
Prob a pretty fun car. You should go all out though and spec the Auto trans... I hear that taking away driver input from a vehicle makes it even more fun to drive. With the next generation you wont even have to touch the steering wheel...
If you drive hard and have a 1996-1999 Gen2 then upgrade to the higher capacity 2000-2002 oil pan and add the baffle kit while your at it.
If you drive hard and have a Gen3 then upgrade to the comp coupe or gen4/5 oil pan & swinging pickup.
On the Gen3:
2003-2004 have 120 degree main bearings...
+1 Allen
This could just be a complaint about the lack of traction control which in a drivers car like the viper is the responsibility of the driver. Could be something as simple as gear selection. Perhaps 3rd gear is better suited for the corner he is loosing control in. Or maybe just...
No, we just trust that the engineers at Penske, Moton, and MCS know what they are doing. Buy their stuff, and rock & roll on the track. :drive:
What are you trying to do Stuntman? Spec a custom valve job on a damper?
If you have questions about suspension setup I recommend coming out to a...
Fronts are 6-1/2's. Rears as well.
You can plug the make/model of any vehicle into the Crutchfield website and select location of speakers and it will spit out a list ones that will fit.
Ive only taken mine out though. As well as the amp & rear subs. Havnt put anything back in as a music...
Gen1 1992-1995 RT/10(targa top) Only
Gen2 1996-2002 RT/10 or GTS(coupe)
Gen3 2003-2006 SRT-10 Convertible or Coupe
The Gen2 GTS's Trunk/Hatch area is huge.
In the RT/10 this is what you have to work with:
I read it as he decreased the pressure a few times to get to his target of 32.
Frank, do you recommend running a higher psi?
"I reduced pressures to 26 psi cold to allow for initial increase from heating, pitting three times to check and reduce ever-increasing pressure. I settled on 32 psi...
Yes, But it was the stupidest looking lambo door execution that I have ever seen. They actually had to cut out a significant portion of the clam-shell hood to make it work.
Complete with the tacky "viperstore" naca duct chrome trim piece. :crazy2:
Doug, Could you clarify if you are looking for one "compromise" tire that is good for both situations or two separate sets of tires for each specific app?
Also what year is your Viper,
what suspension are you running,
and do you have any planned upgrades?
Penskies/MCS/KW/ect... are not "geared towards lowering the car"
That is just ONE of the adjustments that they offer. The entire shock body is threaded enabling you to set the ride height anywhere from above stock all the way down to the tires toughing the inner fender.
So, to answer your...
Im picking DirtyD up @ Bimmerworks in WestChester tomorrow and checking out the Cars&Coffee for the first time, then hitting up backroads to test my freshly cornerballanced & aligned MCS setup. Either of you guys gonna be around?
Talked with AB and he set me straight. Ditching the steel sleaves in favor of socks.
The sleaves hold debris & water which is annoying and can have crap falling into your combustion chamber when changing plugs. Also block you from being able to grab lower on the wire boot to pull out.
Socks...
Gen2 Viper.
Several years ago I replaced my stock plug wires with a set of AB Quality. The old OEM ones were a bit(h to remove but I just twisted and yanked the hell out of em because knew i'd be trashing them so didn't care about damaging the boot-to-wire interface.
Just yesterday I went...
The factory koni adjustment is for rebound only. If anything this would make rubbing worse as the susp/wheel would be slower to decompress allowing another bump to push it further into the wheelwell.
Um yea... Try rolling a fiberglass fender and let us know how that works out for you. SMH
FYI the stock rear springs are 450# and the stock dampers are quite weak. Well IMO too little low speed dampening and too much high speed dampening...
1200# springs on the stock dampers would be a nightmare.
Version 2 of the ACR came with 1100# springs which proved to be way to much spring for...
I like the Gen3 seats the best. Firm with nice side bolster support. Just wish they were tighter to my fit body. I see them fitting the average guy perfectly though.
Gen2 are too soft and dont belong in a sportscar IMO. Replaced mine with a Sparco and love it.
Besides the seats, i think: Gen2...
