Help need in a poorly stored viper?

listen to what most are saying, you did not mention how much is the Viper, with so many well kept Vipers out there, unless its real cheap, buy a Viper thats in good shape, by the time your done fixing a wreck you will be pissed off and will regret the whole process. Just my 2 cents.

    1993 RT 10 Transmission oil

Synthetic ATF is just better than old dinosaur oils, has higher heat range capability and cuts friction, it will work fine in your trans, and be better for it.

    Looking to purchase a Viper

I have a 95 and its awesome, I feel 95 was the best year for gen1s they made a lot of improvements on the way they were assembled and with the soft top. My 95 is raced a lot and it has lots of bolt on mods and has been bullet proof. My 99 GTS sits in a temperature controlled garage and its been...

Help need in a poorly stored viper?

It takes a lot of abuse to break the coilovers or major accident, I would have that car checked out thoroughly.

Mail ordering dealer O2 sensors for 96 GTS: any chance getting wrong connector type?

At Woodhouse you are getting a top quality OE , I would bet the farm that the 27 dollar O2 is not the same as the 120 dollar part from woodhouse, before you wast money on the BARO first try cleaning the air idle control valve and port.

    Locating previous owners

Why do you think you were ripped off, was the car abused. Most Vipers are well taken care of, from what I see. And if you love the car that's all that matters.

HELP PLEASE Viper Family I just bought a 1500 miles on it 2017 Viper ACR

Dodge will give any excuse they can think of, but the real truth of the problem is from day one, the engines were not properly prepped before assembly, the oil galleries had crud in them, which in time wipes out the rod bearings, it is to bad an American car company will try to snake out of...

Bought a somewhat unloved 99 ACR, first time owner

Thats awesome, sounds like you are way ahead of most 27 year old, God was watching over me, my head was not bolted on as tight as yours at 27 so he waited for my brain to catch up to my body before the doors opened for a Viper.

Nice car, be careful, I wish I had my Viper when I was 27, but thats a double edge sword for me I might have killed my self with a Viper.

What RPM does your Viper idle?

On my 95 I had to adjust the throttle body cables, right from the factory, and after that every so often, it seemed once they were set at the perfect spot they stayed put, if you make them to tight , when you slam on the throttle they click open a few notches and the throttle doesn't open all...

    Best canned tunes

If the car does not ping on the 93 tune you can use it, all my cars have 93 tunes from when I lived back east, here in AZ there is only 91, I use Shell, yet all the cars run fine no pinging, plugs look good, I do run one step colder plugs which helps a lot, especially in my supercharged Shelby.

    Battery drain 2001 RT/10

DJ's I do the same thing with the used oil from my Viper, I change it every 8 months along with all the other fluids, even though it sits on stands over the winter with no miles, I save all the fluids and use them in my every day beater. You are right about the alarms in the gen1s they can be a...

    R134a AC gas capacity

If you can get a set of AC gauges, You don't need to know capacity, fill from the low side on till the high side is 150psi , that should be fine, if not cold enough add a little more, keep it under 200 psi.

Viperjay that's great, tell me that's not an awesome feeling when its something easy to fix. Yea that could have gotten ugly real fast. Steve-Indy always go's the extra mile to help, I knew he would know how to reset that off the top of his head, Being an X boxer I have a relaxed brain :D

    Ignition trouble, help!

Nothing is clogged, maybe you have to reset the alarm cut off, from the key fob. Look in your manual how to do it, I have a 95 and 99 never had a problem, but there on battery tenders. Steve-indy knows a lot about how to reset it.

    Overheating 97 GTS

Jtbird I feel your frustration, but it sounds like you can't find the leak, if you have exhausted all your friends and resources, it might be time to take it to a Viper tech like Bill mentioned, at least to find out where the leak is. Once you find out you might be able to fix it yourself or let...

    Overheating 97 GTS

Forget about the hidden bottle, jack the car up and put it on jack stands and go under the car and find the leak, from what I am reading from your posts is you are leaking fluid onto the ground, well find the leak, if your back is still bad send some else under there. On till then we can all...

    Overheating 97 GTS

You say the leak gets greater and greater as the car gets warmer, so you see antifreeze on the ground. If you see no fluid leaking, then you have a blown head gasket, if the oil is clean, then its leaking into the cylinders and getting burned up and going out the exhaust. Much better then...
