Re: \"Supertuner Challenge\" in Car and Driver w/o a Viper????
WoW ....House of speed, since you are so obviuosly talented why not work for Ferrari or McLaren on F-1 cars?
To come onto this board, represent a company HMS, who has such a huge impact into the world of speed associated with the...
Seth man,
Great action, glad you took a spot for us rookies, but watch out the ol Red , white and Blue Oreca machine is back together and Im coming to kick your butt....guess I better get a bigger tank....sure had to be fun waving as you past all the guys who ran out of gas....GREAT JOB!
Re: \"Supertuner Challenge\" in Car and Driver w/o a Viper????
Shakedown...."The obvious" is what?....enlighten us. And what dream are we in? The fact that the Viper performs well in skid tests? great torque and horsepower? does fairly well "stock" in the 1/4 mile? has great street appeal...
Re: \"Supertuner Challenge\" in Car and Driver w/o a Viper????
First off Joe Houss, WELL SAID!!!!.
Kyle.....House of Speed.....What are you thinking? What did you expect that you would come on to the Viper board and basically trash how Viper owners feel about their cars, and get no grief...
The basics of drag and lift occur all the way down at speeds of 20 MPh.On production based cars aero lift is what at higher speeds a wing is used to compensate for, however the use of a wing can and will not always increase drag. A great book to read on the subject is a book called Competition...
Every one of our raqce Vipers has had the steering rack rewelded with gussets as this is a problem spot that brakes when road racing. I think DC even made a recall on that and have a gusset kit for it.
fIRST TIME AT ENGLISHTOWN, AND I HAVE NOT DRAG RACED IN 20 YEARS AND MY GEN I 1996 VIPER RAN A 12.21. CAR HAS HEADERS AND SMOOTH TUBES AND CAT BACK EXHAUST. NOT BAD FOR A ROOKIE
PDA events are great and usually lots of track times. Unfortunately my race Viper is still apart (blown engine) SO I will not make the VIR event with the rest of Snake Pit Racing, so looks like I have to jump into the ol reliable street Viper and count me in at pocono.
I am confused (as usual). I read only part of the thread before it was pulled. I have the Roe upgraded master cylinder on my race Viper. The rear brake setup is the vette package but with brembo's up front. SO FAR the sytem has worked great. Of course I have porsche ducts and air ducts also. I...
Any helmet with a snell rating of 95 is good, but you should consider a helmet made of the newer lighter Kevlar materials.....It is your head you are trying to protect and I think it is always the best policy to have the very best in safety equipment! Accidents DO HAPPEN!
Forget Babbitt.....he did several of my team mates helmets...( Snake Pit Racing)...and my team mate Chris Barone (shark car) helmet was the worst helmet paint job we ever saw....I went to Moes Helmets...in Texas...His paint job on my helemt was incredible!...It is red, white and blue, painted to...
For what reason would you want to use a racing tire on the street.....one hard stop of locking up the brakes (easy to do on the street) and Hoosiers are history...
Re: \"A**hole Viper driver\"
read the story below that one on the LSI board about the two drivers killed in NY which is also on this site....seems the Lambo driver killed an innocent father of two young kids , injured the guys wife, plus the Vette racer injured his wife and NOW FACES TWO COUNTS...
The "long" course is the front straight, the high bank, the back straight, then into the inner track known as the north course...its about 2.3 miles...
Right on Rich.....glad to see once again the Vipers of Archer winning.....like I said on the SCCA forum....the car is one thing ...but Archer is another...restrict him all you want ....he is still gonna prevail.....GOOD JOB! It still comes down to the driver and setup and if the vette boys drove...
If I win it I am trading it in for a Covette Z06...................................................................................................................................yeah......in my next life....
I beleive the wing and brakes will have to go, must be stock setup...or this moves you into the ITE class...cat back is allowed....look up 99T1...as he is one of our team mates with an ACR in T-1....our 4 other Vipers are all in ITE...Morgan will let you know all that is T-1 allowed..
dave, A couple of my race team mates have them in our race cars.
They are really for race prep only as they are either ON or OFF....their is no feathering in of the clutch...
Paul.....I AGREE 100%!!!!.
Its funny that as long as the Vettes were on top with how much Hp and suspension difference over Trans Am, Camaro, and Mustangs you never did hear a word from them. Then Lo and behold the Viper comes along and every Vette guy wants ALL Vipers slowed down to their...
The Vette boys are constantly whinning on the SCCa board to the point they did get the ACR REEESTRICTORS on....great to hear we are still kickin butt ....wonder what the next restriction will be?
If you enjoy the Pocono track look up PDA Racing as they run events their all the time...WWW.IMP-AUTO.COM...they are their in July or go to TRACKMASTERS.COM they are Watkins Glen next week I beleive or Go to DELAWARE BMWCCA they are at Pocono next week also.....Good Luck...have Fun ...BE SAFE!!
