    gen 1 big brakes

Here is exactly how much difference there will be: 40mm Performance Plus you have two "experts" that can provide independent comments (not that the ones on this page aren't valued!) Chuck Tator (Viper Wizard) and Jon Brobst (JonB) both have installed new rear calipers on their personally...

    Too early for winter mods?

Is the header hitting the frame causing the rattling? I put Gen 2 tubular headers on my Gen 1 and it gets close enough to rattle, depending on your motor mounts.

    Rear window in RT/10 shattered!!!!

Many online plastics stores sell Lexan and a plate glass (not auto glass) shop might have it in stock or can order for you.

    mirror loose

Yes, rotate the mirror 90 degrees from normal (they do move in case you brush by a pedestrian) and look into the recess.

    Rear window in RT/10 shattered!!!!

I just made side windows from Lexan. It's a surprising tough material and should be fine. Score, snap, drills predictably. I think it might be prone to scratches, but as a back window probably not a problem. I suggest you get the same thickness as the glass was so that the gasket works properly.

    OOOPS 08 ACR

Airborne or light, dunno. Wheelspin in 3rd with 400hp car on Kumhos, yes. (Doesn't happen in 4th, so that's one correction.) Car takes off in direction of front wheels when rears hook up again. Because you are finishing a right turn as you crest, drivers tend to swerve right when landing. I'm no...

    Correct me if I'm wrong

Want some deep tread 335 XGTZ's? No cracks, either.

    OOOPS 08 ACR

Yes, even in my mostly stock '94 in third gear up that hill the wheels will break loose - you best be aimed straight! And most incidents are when the car lands... That is my chicken turn.

    Correct me if I'm wrong

Pretty risky to use a 1994 VIN if it's not a 1994. The VIN is stamped at least three other places. It has a later VIN number, but the early RT/10 calipers. It has a later VIN number, but does not have the passenger inside door handle. Has extra buttons to the left of the radio - not OEM. The...

    Correct me if I'm wrong

My '94 doesn't have an external antenna; I think that is 92-some 93. Yes, my '94 has A/C but curtain windows. Interior has definitely been played with; was no leather cover on transmission tunnel. Cannot be exported to Canada because for '94 they required floor mounted seatbelts. Nice cracks...

    Towing Question

The front hook is bolted on in front of the fiberglass bumper and through to the frame itself. It's a sandwich of hook-fiberglass-frame. It may make creaky noises if the fiberglass is being tweaked but it's not coming off.

    Educate Me on "Oil Starvation"

So can you "overfill" a ZO6 (almost) dry sump tank so that the pressure pump never runs dry?

I've had both but not at the same time. This is making me wish I had a picture together.

    Left hand mirror

Call up the local auto glass shop and ask. You'll have your new one in front of you when they describe how.

    Educate Me on "Oil Starvation"

Not surprised in a 6000 RPM engine, but in a 16,000 RPM engine it shows up.

    Educate Me on "Oil Starvation"

Yeah, but.... the oil has to be sucked up the pickup tube first to even get to (or bypass) the filter. Usually the filter goes into bypass when the oil is cold and pressure is high. I'd like a less restrictive filter element so the flow is high through the filter. Any more info on this?

    Towing Question

Thanks for that info. I'm comfortable with the front loop because it does extend beyond the front fascia enough to accept a hook or cable without risking the bodywork, it seems sturdy enough to tolerate being pulled left or right a little, and is mounted on the same point as the OEM "bumper."...

I think it's the red loop on a red car. Same piece is on my car; see pic above.

    Let me introduce.......

Advice: Check with your Motor Vehicles about registering it. Laws have changed and it could be a major hassle. I built a kit Cobra back in the early 19xx's. Had it for 13 years, terrific autocross car, sold it to buy the Viper. That's why, to me, the Gen 1 Viper is a "refined" car.

Please help me determine if I have tranny problem.

Part one of a shift is that the synchro (which is a friction clutch) and has to get to the speed of the gear. Part two is the slider envelopes the small teeth on the synchro and also the small teeth on the gear, making them spin at the same speed. I think when the clutch is not releasing...

    Educate Me on "Oil Starvation"

Let's keep going... It's usually worth many 10's of horsepower (I know of up to 40) because it reduced windage losses, it applied a vacuum to the crankcase for better ring sealing, and rather than spilling a lot of the oil via the relief valve, was sized properly. It's a worthwhile thing all...

I dunno. I think straight and "uphill" are good. I would worry more about "left" and "right."

    AC Cobra & Dodge Viper

As far as financially successful - Viper is the longest running Dodge nameplate, ever, I believe. From 1992 to 2010 is at least 18 years and the Cobra was 4 or 5 years? Viper was also the only piece of Cerebus-Chrysler that was actively for sale and sought after. Ford didn't sell the Cobra...
