I've noticed that during track sessions, my gearbox requires more and more effort as the session progresses. I'm wondering if heat may be the culprit.
Anyone else notice an increase in shifting difficulty during long track sessions?
Anyone here put a transmission cooler on their Viper?

PS2 tires are the ones you want.
They are awesome street tires.
If they are not sticky enough for you, the new Sport Cups would be your next choice.
The A6 is a very specialized tire.
As promised, here's a long term update on my stiffer springs.
I still like them.
They are fine on the street, and great on the track. My laptime on my local road course improved from 1:56 to 1:49 since putting the stiffer springs on. Not all of this improvement is due to the springs...
The Autoweek article on the new ACR says that it is shod with 345/30/19 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires.
Could this be true?
Potential good news for folks looking for a 19 inch R compound tire.
This car is bad a$$.
I am going to buy one of these. I have long thought that one Viper would be enough for me. This ACR has changed my mind. I will not rest until I get one. I'm going to weld a roll cage into it and flog it like a rented mule.
For all those who are whining about the...
The best paint shop in Colorado is Colour Restoration outside Longmont.
They restore and paint lots of exotics, including Pebble Beach winning cars. They are not cheap, but they are ultra high quality.

The open track season is coming to a close.
There's a Miata Club event (all cars welcome) on November 3rd and a NASA event on November 9,10,11 both at Pueblo.
I'm going to be at the NASA event on the 10th (Saturday.)
I live at the end of a long dirt/gravel road.
I have clear bra on my side sills, the front of my hood, and the area directly behind the tires. However, my doors still get a bit of spray whenever I drive my car. As a result, over the years, I have collected hundreds and hundreds of "micro-chips"...
Motons.
I have 700/900 pound springs in my car, along with Motons and PS2s. Even with the ultra stiff springs, it rides nice and smooth. With 500/700 pound springs and Motons, your car will be very smooth indeed.
2 Points:
USAA sucks. We dropped them after 10 years because of problems insuring my Viper.
We have State Farm now. Much better. It really makes a difference to have a real, individual agent that handles your account rather than the USAA call center.
The woman who hit you is...
I'm curious: Has anyone ever run their car in the quarter mile with stock 3:07 gears and then 3:55 (or other) aftermarket gears?
What were the differences (if any) to the e.t. and mph?
My car is different than most SRT-10s because I run 18 inch rear wheels, and have closer ratio (.8 and...
I have a Rockland Standard transmission in my Viper.
So far, no problems.
You can get them with standard gear ratios or with a closer ratio 5th and 6th gear (which is what I have in mine.)

The 08 car is worth $20,000 more than the 06. More power, better differential, better clutch, better oiling system, better tires, better handling, better transmission.
Unless you plan on modifying the car, you should buy the 08.
I don't know if folks were aware of it, but there are a rather limited number of OEM codes for the remote. Next time you are at a Viper gathering, click your remote. Chances are, it will open the doors on a couple of the cars around you besides your own.
I found this out by accident. I was...
I like the First Strike better, but that is because I tend to grab the knob from the side. The First Strike has a semi pistol grip feel to it, whcih fits my shift style better.
If you grab the knob from the top, you will likely prefer the round one.
