Show me any car with angular styling that has remained a pinnacle ( as in classic) of styling?
jaguar e type or XJS?
Ferrari Daytona or Testarossa?
Aston-Martin DB or Lagonda?
Sharp/wedge styling simply do not age gracefully.
Typical of aluminum corrosion.
As for the temp you can't rely on the gauge, they are amost always off, you need to plug an OBD2 reader and see what the temperatue is, om my 00GTS, the gauge always read 10*/15* higher
I't a good old idea/concept but the rubber piece is not, it will stretch and the zip tie will get loose.
Instead use another zip tie ( at 90* from the other one) to do the same job than the rubber.
I will check what type of metal it is B4 welding it, cold roll steel, tempered steel, spring steel, etc
Some can be welded and some can't ( will loose it's spring properties)
Don't want to get into an argument but your post, from a technical and racing perspectives, is note quite accurate
Not even sure where to start......
Braking is most effective when the 4 tires do the job ,at the limit a locking up.
Due to forward weight transfer under braking, the front can...
Steve:
Don't want to argue with you but you don't seems to understand how a cooling system/thermostat work.
I have provide below a link if you want to learn about cooling system
MG Tech - Theory of operation of the cooling system
That is assuming that coolant temp never exceed Tstat rating and that is a wrong assumption, most cars, especialy Vipers run much warmer than rating.
What control the max temp is not the Tstat ( only control the MINIMUM temperature) but rather the cooling sysyem BTU's capacity
I bet you that the problem was that the A/C (snowflake symbol) position was missing.
Well, it's not missing nor a wrong part in the box.
They just put a dot of the same material than the display over it to cover it.
You just have to remove/peel it of.
Why do they do that?
Very simple, the ACR...
I don't understand this logic, cops are the wrong target.
Laws are passed by legislators and cops are tasked to enforce them.
If you thing that a law is stupid, go after the legislators, not the cops
ChiefChad:
I can't disagree with any of your points ( that why I never take any of my vehicles to be serviced) and frankly it's a pretty sad fact that there are only a very, very few techs ( regardless of brand, viper certified or not) that will treat your vehicle as well than you do.
But...
I shoud add that there nothing wrong in wanting to be treated differently than the average Joe and his F150 but let's not confuse marketing and technical issues
Are you implying that for other cars than the Viper, Dodge DO NOT want to have properly trained people to resolve any problems and provide a high level of services?????
Of course not, so where the difference?
Your point #1 is correct, a mechanic that work on a lot of Vipers will be better (...
Beside the fact that I do all the work on my vehicles, i think that you guys should realize this this "Viper Tech" thing is nothing more than a marketing gimmik designed to make peoples that bought a very expensive DODGE feel special.
Give me a break, what so special about working on a...
sometimes, less is more and that apply to the gas cap.
franklly if the viper logo was etched/engraved in to the cap it would be a different story but the way it is sticking out , il look like a wart.
Make me think of the fake vent ports or fake caliper cover sold on ebay.
Don't worry its only my...
Randy:
The issue is not about a provision for mounting the anti-submarine belt ( on a 5pts) or for the 6pt harness ( in this case the 2 anti-submarine belts mount to the same location than the lap belts) but rather that to work the way they are designed to, the belt(s) need to go right...
