Related to the Michellin Thread, is Skip still doing the Euro trip ?

If so, the intenerary ought to leave off the Ring, LeMans and other French and German destinations. At the very least, bring in enough gas bought outside Germany so you can run the Ring without spending any money there ! Hopefully it's located close enough to a border that you can stay in...

    shifting advice

There are websites with calculators that tell the rpm at which you can acheive max acceleration. It pretty much boils down on the standard Viper tranny with a stock rear gear of doing every shift at 6,000-6,100 rpm. I personally do not like to push my car to near redline every shift...

Will O2 sims correct an over-rich condition at high revs/loads

Thanks all for the input. It's time to get to the dyno and see what's up with rwhp, air/fuel, etc. The reason that I post is that in the heavy braking zones I am puffing blackish smoke which to me indicates rich condition. I undoubtedly must also have the oil puke in the air box thing going...

Will O2 sims correct an over-rich condition at high revs/loads

I have very hi-flow through cats (the biscuit is gone in one and perhaps the other). I set no codes unless an 02 sensor is going bad (usually a front one). Nevertheless, I wonder if 02 sims would be a good idea in light of my nearly cat-less exhaust. Can some on here bring me up the learning...

DC Covers my Broken Tranny Under Extended Warranty

I reached for 5th gear one day and it just wasn't there. Come to find out there are others in the club just like me who have also experienced this break down. The way my luck has been running of late I just knew that DC would turn down this warranty claim. Boy was I wrong ! Admittedly, they...

What's up with the fan being powered by the power steering pump ?!!

Re: What\'s up with the fan being powered by the power steering pump ?!! Tom. Thank you for your explanation. What I think I am reading is that at high RPMs, the pulleys lessen the strain on the pump and they are made of stronger material. At low RPMs, the fan is more efficient due to its...

    Thunderhill Results?

Thanks Paul. I could have sworn that you had concluded just the opposite about a month or so ago (when you first had the Porsche at Buttonwillow or Willow Springs, I forget which). Oh well, the Viper is still great bang for the buck. For that matter, the ZO6 seems even better from a pure...

    Thunderhill Results?

Paul, I am confused. What kind of car was Bobby Archer driving? What lap times did he put down. I ask not only to stir the pot, but to compare in some warped way to the times that a Porsche factory driver put down when he tried to compare the Viper ACR and the GT2. He ran 2:04 in the ACR...

What's up with the fan being powered by the power steering pump ?!!

What\'s up with the fan being powered by the power steering pump ?!! I was told by my tech today that the ST-10's fan is powered by pressure from the power steering pump rather than being electric. For those who track their SRT-10, I sure hope the pump is a LOT better than the one that came...

Where to get my JRZ double adjustables rebuilt ? One's oiless !

Where to get my JRZ double adjustables rebuilt ? One\'s oiless ! While off, do you revalve them too or is that only a concept that applies to non-adjustable shocks ? I would likely set them up for RoadAtlanta as it's home to me ! What's a reasonable amount to pay per shock to rebuild them ?

    Oil pan bolts leaking

Mine do too. In fact some tech stripped a couple so they fell out ! Helicoil and sealing is probably only realsitic solution. Fairly common issue actually. I just put a shallow dish under each leaking bolt and then recyle the oil back into the oil fill. ;^ )

Proposed Insurance Coverage Rider for Track Driving Event Applications

For those whoa are curious, the GA Supreme Court must respond to our petition for cert. (request for consideration) within 30 days of its submission. We submitted it just over a week ago, so we'll know whether I will live to fight another day fairly soon ! Keeping my fingers and toes crossed.

Proposed Insurance Coverage Rider for Track Driving Event Applications

In light of my little insurance debacle, if you think you might be covered while on the track you may want to think about appending something like the following language to your application or, better, have it counter-signed by the event's organizer: "It is my understanding (and you have...

Heffner dyno results--843 rwhp (corrected) = 31 HP gain!!!!

By my calculations, using Sean Roe's driveline loss factor established by having at his disposal a chasis dyno, an engine dyno and a 97 GTS well before a supercharger was even a gleam in his eye, yield about 944 hp at the flywheel. If I recall correctly, you multiply the rwhp by 1.12, the...
