Jon B - Question re: SSR wheels

I asked this question on the supplier forum, but you must not have seen it there. Do the 18" SSR wheels you were showing have the correct fitment properties to work on the SRT-10? Is the backspacing and brake clearance correct? I may be looking for some 18" wheels to use with track tires...

    Modified SRT-10 Gawk Factor (Predictions)

I'm not so sure the CC has the stock shape to it, it looks to me like the original lower fender height was used.

Autoform Does it Again!! Photos of 2003 SRT-10 with Autoform Accessories

OK - I'm impressed with the look of the roll bar & will probably have to have one in either chrome or body color - when my car comes in that is. Is the bar any taller than the stock bar, that would help in providing added clearance to possibly make this bar legal for other sanctioning...

Uhh - the original Viper was a roadster only, so where does this " the only real Viper is a coupe " come from???

Tire Hell and the "Tire Rack" and "Just Tires" saves the day....

Re: Tire Hell and the I am not saying you are making a mistake here, only that I would not be comfortable on a race track with a repair. I would not be worried about air leaking, but rather a dramatic failure and pulling apart of the cords and tread. The glued patch is only as strong as...

Tire Hell and the "Tire Rack" and "Just Tires" saves the day....

Re: Tire Hell and the I'm not saying it is necessarily dangerous in all punctures, but the reason that the speed rating goes away is due to possible damage to the "fabric" layers that stabilize the tread. No patch that simply adhires to the inside layer of rubber, no matter how it is stuck...

    Brake fade

kverges, do the yellows have a cf similar to the stock pads when cold, or are they a bit dead til they heat up??

    Changes for 2004?

White paint instead of silver, other than that there have only been hints as far as I am aware.

    Brake fade

Tom - would the red EBCs be useful for occasional track work and primarily autocross work? I dont want to have the typical hard pedal no brakes on cold application of typical race pads. There is no time to warm tham up at an autocross. Or conversely, how is the initial friction of the yellows??

    Brake fade

I believe that the CC has a different brake pad than the SRT, I believe that is the only Mechanical difference to the actual brakes assemblies from what we have been told. I have been wondering if it might be worth changing to a higher temp pad before I even drive the car & this report...

Has anyone autocrossed or run hard enough to know???

Thanks for the input, My timing is such that I will have to guess at alignment tweaks without having driven the car & this helps a bunch!

Motor Trend High speed shootout 2003-SRT10 represents

I don't understand how some of these editors think, do they feel every car should be built to the same goal??? Why can't they just enjoy the differences between different styles of cars? I personally don't want the Viper to be any more "refined" in the way that a Porsche is, Porsches are...

Has anyone autocrossed or run hard enough to know???

I was wondering if anyone has pushed their car beyond the limits of adhesion yet - in a controlled enough setting that they know what's happening at the limit. Does the car push wide, or oversteer with the rear end sliding at the limit?? I assume it isn't perfectly neutral, I've only had one...

Re: Tire Hell and the Bob - If I were planning on track running in the car, I personally would probably replace the damaged one. Better safe than sorry at 150 MPH. At least they are not worn enough to make replacing two of them necessary. Also, my local "Discount Tire" also has the...

    SRT Track Limitations

Tony, a noticable difference is that on the RT/10, if the hardtop comes off in a crash, sliding sideways across the car, there is little chance of the top itself causing an injury. On the SRT, there appears to be a much greater chance of the top creating a problem due to it being a full top...

    2000 RPM's in 1st gear...

Re: 2000 RPM\'s in 1st gear... Doctor, It hurts when I bend my knee, twist my ankle, and lean to the right, what should I do??? Don't do that, replied the Doctor. I had a similar experience with my 00 RT/10 and just learned to avoid the exact throttle setting that caused the problem, though...

    SRT Track Limitations

It's the strength first and the height second, depending on the height of the driver and if the seat is lowered. Both the people working on track sufficient bars have addressed both these points, although depending on driver height the seat lowering might have to be done as well. Both of these...

    6 point harness installation??

Bob - The owner of the shop who sold you the belts is extremely knowledgeable about most all things Viper related, so if you don't get any help here, you might want to try calling him. When you do get the belts mounted up please report back on the installation for the rest of us who will...

SRT-10 Gawk Factor (or lack thereof)

It's important to remember that although there are many GTS owners who don't like & wouldn't buy a convertible, there are many people who aren't complaining about the fact that the SRT is a convertible because that is what they wanted. I personally would not have even considered an SRT if...

Finally saw a new SRT in person

Patrick - then my objection is not with you, but with those who moved it - Joe Houss, why do posts like this meant to be for gen2 & 3 owners get moved here??? I don't visit that forum & don't care what they think about the SRT, but these opinions got done to death here early on & I...
