    New Racing Pedals (Picture)

Personally (and I'm paranoid), I don't like anything bolted to the brake pedal. Should it work loose at a bad moment, it could impair stopping the car. I assume these are robust and unlikely to come loose, but be careful on the install to be absolutely certain that the brake pedal pad cannot...

SRT Engine Failure With Less Than 1k Miles Clocked

Here we go - just like the phantom head gaskets of Gen I, we have to start an urban legend to see if we can destroy the value of SRTs. Well I'll go on record as having owned 5 Vipers, each from new, with NO DRIVETRAIN PROBLEMS OF ANY KIND. And I drive my cars with vigor, including sessions on...

Polished Valve Covers for your Snake

Clearcoat is unlikely to work. I had some gorgeous magnesium indy car wheels on my vintage indy car polished, then I made the mistake of clear powder coating them. They tarnished from underneath and the powdercoat was basically impossible to remove.

    Questions on Viper PCM signals??

That is a tough one, without knowing what voltage, impedance and signal shape the Jacobs part needs, it is a total WAG about what signal to pluck from the engine or even if any will work. There are potential Hall effect pickups, optical triggers and coil/magnet, just to name three of which I am...

Anyone have the clear tape which goes on the side sills for rock chips?

You might by 3M tape and cut out what you need. Last time I checked, the factory parts were very pricy and remember there are three pieces per side, on behind the front tire, one on the bulge before the black painted exhaust, and one at the black exhaust kickout.

    Totaled 95 RT10 and Insurance

In general, I don't think any dealer is required to disclose anything but the odometer statement unless you ask. That said, if the car was indeed a total loss at a prior time, then it should have had a salvage title and I wonder how or why that did not occur. If you asked "has this car ever...

    Question about Gen I Valuation

The head gasket whiners have done absolutely no one any good. My '93 with 21,000 miles and plenty of track time is perfect - it consumes and leaks nothing. I spoke with my Viper Tech, who is very expereienced and well respected and he has NEVER had to replace a Gen I head gasket. About 10...

    V-1 hard wire advice

Greg, I'd like stick my head in your footwell to see which wire they tapped into.

    V-1 hard wire advice

I appreciate the input, but we are talking SRT-10 here. I just want to know where to easily tap into switched power. The detailed instructions above only help if there is a fuse panel in the passenger compartment, and appear to be written for the GTS. THERE IS NO FUSE PANEL IN THE PASS...

Anyone know block drain and thermostat bleeder plug socket sizes?

Shameless plug for bleeding coolant, hot or cold: http://www.viperclub.org/news/bleedersannouncement.html

Who sells the bleeder to burp...

http://www.viperclub.org/news/bleedersannouncement.html DC put me out of business on the '03 - it has a bleeder nipple built into the thermostat housing. Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. <font color="red">Link fixed by Vipermad. :) </font>

    V-1 hard wire advice

How do you hard wire to the pop-op lighter? That is, how do you remove enough of the console to get to that outlet? This is a switched outlet and the one I'd like to use. As for the detector, I just use the suction cups high and to the left of the "hump" where the top latch is located. I...

    V-1 hard wire advice

I wanted to hard wire my Valentine 1 but did not know an easy place to get switched 12V power very easily, especially since all the fuses are now under the hood. Any suggestions? Thanks

    New SRT-10 1/4 mile times!

I am more interested in trap speed, and with lower weight, better aero and 50 more hp, 119-120 is not the quantum leap from the GTS I would expect. This tells me the cars will be very close from a roll. I hope the rumored computer upgrade form PVO or DC is not too long coming. I agree with...

    SRT-10 K&N Filters ????

Tony, there is an easier way - just measure the dimensions and then call K&amp;N and others. I think they are oval, though, which may require custom tooling to fit just right. I expect the aftermarket to jump righ into this in the near future. I also wonder how much power it will really make...

VIPER DAYS...INSURANCE IN LIGHT OF GA COURT OF APPEALS RULING?

Put yourself in the insurance company's shoes. YOU don't want to go on track bearing the entire financial responsibility, and the insurer is likely to be concerned about exactly the same thing. I want to see a letter, from the CARRIER (not agent) saying that high speed driver's ed is covered...

    Deals on SRT

Let us know if you get under MSRP. I'd be shocked. Maybe later in the year, but right now - I'll go on record as saying no way. Even if my circumstances made it impossible to buy my SRT, I'd sure want to get market price for it and High 80s seems to be market right now. Remember that many...

    Seat Belt Ringer Deactivation

Worked for me first time. When doing the three-step latching, watch the indicator light. There is a short delay and I surmise that you must allow the light to go off before unlatching and come on before re-latching so the computer senses the three independent latch/unlatch cycles. I did not...

    Spinning Out.......

Keep the racing on the track. Can't afford it? Not necessarily. If you can afford a C5, you can afford legitimate, sanctioned racing in a real race car and a driving school to boot. For example, I can't afford or justify racing a Viper; the cost of a dedicated race car with a cage and the...

Just got my new red SRT-10 !!

Same here; I HAD TO HAVE my '93 and still have it. Then when Yellow came out in the GTS, it was much the same thing. The '03 just does not bowl me over, but I have to say I think it is a better car. There is a powerful teutonic and asian influence in this car, for better and for worse.

    THE STING

Steve, my posts were to express and assert my opinion and what I believe to be legal rights, no to make some kind of pronouncement of unqestionable wisdom and knowledge. You make good points, too and we just disagree on some of them. I could even be wrong ;-) That's why this forum is so great...

    THE STING

Steve, I appreciate, but do not entirely agree with, your points. For example, actively refusing to let your local club members know about 17 offer letters from dealers eager to earn their business because you did not deem the dealer "friendly?" That troubles me (1) because it allowed YOU...

    '01 Viper ACR vs. '01 Porsche 911 TT***VIDEO***

Re: \'01 Viper ACR vs. \'01 Porsche 911 TT***VIDEO*** That TT is modded - they pull 116 in the 1/4 stock, as opposed to 118 for a Viper. Now a X50 might be the "mod" to do it, but I'll bet there is some serious boost in that car.

    THE STING

Who cares if he is a VCA member? He sure is ABOUT TO BE ONE IF HE BUYS THE CAR and the insinuation that we, as a community, will care any differently about what has happened to him if he is a VCA member is completely irrelevant. Steve, you gonna tell me that you or anyone else in the VCA is...
