Re: What is involved when you \"nut & bolt\" a viper before tracking it?
Glad I could help.
Concur on emergency brake use.
Also, and vital!! Following track session, change from long sleeve shirt or racing suit to "wife beater T" ASAP for physical cool-down ops. The more ghetto the wife...
Re: \'94 RT/10 for under $20K
Today at the Fredericksburg Auto Auction (dealers only) in Virginia, a red 1994 RT/10 with over 20K miles sold for $34K plus fees, which would run about another $1K at that selling price. $35K total. The car was very clean.
Pretty strong price, considering it...
Re: What is involved when you \"nut & bolt\" a viper before tracking it?
Regarding wheel lug nut torque:
make sure the wheels have cooled considerably prior to a re-torque. Tightening the lug nuts when the car is right off of the track could stretch the studs. Or so I have been told.
Use...
Re: May 19th 2004 National
Fuel prices are high because high fuel prices prop up the regimes of oil-producing nations. Plain and simple. I had a long chat with a US Department of State consular officer in Saudi Arabia about this issue many years ago. This particular guy was unusually...
First day, first Viper (yellow 1995 RT/10), back in early 1997:
two near crashes by spectators
a gawking state trooper swung too far right in a left hand turn at an intersection and ran a car in the adjacent lane up on a curb
bared mammaries by a lass in the passenger seat of an F150
"we're...
Re: Just signed up for Viper Days @ VIR July 17th & 18th! Who\'s going?
Bugeater's got a "bat" up his sleeve...
Wife and I are attending (I need adult supervision). I'm driving SRT, and she's driving ACR (known to whiny Jon as "Freeman's Beater).
Two pulls today. No fans blowing air into the intake or anything. Just the straight, simple numbers (corrected, of course). Dynojet. Both within 1 HP and 3 TQ of each other. Rich in the mid-range...RICH!
I'm changing to the 3.5 gear, too. I measured the tire diameters on my '00 ACR then on the SRT. Roughly 1.5 in. larger diameter on SRT! No wonder those suckers need a gear...
How much are ring & pinions? Labor-wise, I'll either do it myself or shop it out to the local gearheads I know.
My choices:
Gen IV turbo minivan with no less than 87 cup holders
New 4 door turbo wagon...K car-style...AWD...Mitsu drivetrain so it can proudly wear Japanese lettering at 35 degrees from the horizontal...SRT-TEC badges..."Aries-San"
On a recent visit to Biff's, I saw his SRT-10 top. It is awesome. The usual attention to detail you get from him (and you can expect outstanding personal attention, as well), and it's very well-engineered. I'm ordering one.
