The closest I have heard to a V-10 sound like a V-8 is with the full Belenger set up with stock cats cut to 3". It was did produce a lot of resonance with freeway crusing. Getting the Viper V-10 to sound like a small block V-8 is like trying to get a Ferrari flat 12 to sound like one. Difficult...
I don't think finding a place to mount 19 or 20" wheels is much of a problem. The trouble I had was finding a place that can balance 13" wide wheels. Don't think BMW or Porsche dealers would be much help as they have never produced a car with wheels that wide. Maybe a Lambo dealer :) . I...
Actually the StopTech Big Brake kits (both 2 and 4 wheel) are available in kits for 17 and 18" wheels.
I also like the 17" look much better. I would love to upgrade to 18"s if they came in the 96-98 style. They remind me a little of the Crager SS's I had on my 69 Mustang Fastback. I don't...
More Vipers than Boxsters or SLK's! Wow! It seems that every sorority girl in California has Boxster or SLK. Endless sea of them. On a drive to Sonoma yesterday I saw 3-4 NSX's, 1 Ferrari, 1 Cobra and countless Porsches, Merces AMG's, ugly new 7 series. Did see one RT-10, one ACR and one Gen...
Love it. Easy install except for the access. Be sure you don't remove the brake link instead of the clutch link. Everything looks different when you are under there upside down!
What high flow cat did you use? I did a 3" Corsa, Random Tech cat install myself and found that one RT cat had an incomplete weld under the heat shield. If you don't find the leak at the connectors, check out the cats.
If you want the "Porsches for breakfast, Ferraris for lunch", order it from Ivan Ho and support a VCA club. Perfect fit and you can't beat the price!!
From a previous post:
"Yes!! We have the almost famous license plate holders that say: "Porsches for Breakfast, Ferraris for Lunch" They are...
On weekends my Viper has a child seat in ti more often than not. I have been driving my daughter in it since she was a few months old and she is now almost 3 years. I use a Britex Roundabout which fits well. I just pull the airbag fuses which disables both airbags.
My daughter has named the...
I can't take any credit for the following comments as I just collected them from my past few years on the board:
"Going to re-set toe in the front after taking out the sport shims and was wondering which way to turn the tie rod to bring the wheels in (increase toe in). After taking out the sport...
I am with you BigCarrot. Self-installation is a big plus for me. I love working on the Viper and cannot imagine anything more fun than putting on a supercharger. Just need to figure out which one...
This thread was on the difference in supercharger prices and the only prices I have heard are on Sean's and Dan's kits. In the interest of the thread, could all the owners with other systems post what they paid and how many HP they have?
JK,
This is actually one of the best all around car evaluations I have seen in a magazine. They judge each car in the following categories:
Car Show (4)
Grandma test (6)
Engineering guru eval (2)
Drivability (1)
Dyno: Peak power (2)
Power delivery (2)
Base price (10)
Emissions (7)
Fuel...
ViperJoe,
If you are planning on doing the high flow cat/cat back exaust upgrade I have an illustrated upgrade on the install. Let me know if you are interested. I used R/T ceramic cats with Corsa 3" exaust from Jon B.
Tubes/Filters/catback no problem. High flow cats should pass. I have the Random Tech cats and have not had to smog yet. Dan Cragin should have experience with them. I passed with my VEC 1 zeroed. I believe the only 50 state legal headers are Edelbrocks. I think any of the available headers will...
