    F355 vs SRT 10

I have an appreciation for Ferraris and Porsches since they have a long race history. However, the styling does get dated when the new models come out except for a rare few. (The F40 for example) The main reason I preferred a Viper is that it's engine is just plain huge and is a detuned...

    Hello Ohio! (pics)

Congrats on your move. Did you get a new job also? You always can tell a true car guy when he gets a new house and takes pics of the huge garage. Very Nice GTS and truck isn't too bad either. :2tu:

    flat beded

My Viper is stock and the damper came off. V10 SpeedLuvr, The pin kit is cheap insurance if the pulley didn't fall off yet. GTSPOWERED, I also recommend getting a new damper since the softer metal of the old damper would wear off from the harder crank snout. Chuck Tator is the man...

MCVO Tour of Saleen Plant -- the Final Ford GT's

Re: MCVO Tour of Saleen Plant -- the Final Ford GT\'s I second that notion on the S7 especially the TT version.

    Advice on Pinning the Crankshaft??

Roe sells a crank pin kit. It comes with a drill bit, guideplate, and very good instructions. I think $65 was what I spent. I had a garage do it for me since I didn't have time. Easier to do on a lift from underneath.

    Let's have a little contest!

Re: Let\'s have a little contest! Got my fingers crossed for you John. Not sure when winter sets in where you are but here, I get away with leaving the Viper on road till some time in November.

    Hypothetical question about our hoods

If insurance is paying, get the original hood. It's worth more than aftermarket. If not, I agree that aftermarket hoods hurt resale or classic potential. Depends on how long his attention span is with cars in the end.

    Now that it's clean....

Re: Now that it\'s clean.... I recommend that you get a new Damper and a Roe pin kit and pin the crank. Happened with mine and I reused the old damper only to have it come off again. Pinning the crank is cheap insurance. Beautiful ACR.

    A Meeting of Generations

The only thing dating the GTS styling wise is the size of the rims. Both are awesome cars.

You know you own a Viper when.....

When your home renovation is almost done and it's a beautiful job but you still would rather have bought a second Viper.

Engine and Tranny swap from 06 Viper into 2000 Viper

I know I will get flamed but I would wait till a Gen IV motor actually does come out. If there actually is NA 600-650hp, the swap would be very worthwhile. This is assuming you already have a 2000 Viper. If you want to buy a new Viper, now is the best time for a deal.

Disappointing day on Khumo V700 on drag strip

BFG's are more designed for drag strip performance. The sidewalls will wrinkle a little better than V700's. The V700's have stiffer sidewall for better cornering which is less desireable for strip use.

I couldn't pass it up! Bought another Snake for my Garage!

Re: I couldn\'t pass it up! Bought another Snake in my Garage! Very awesome RT/10 Casey. If I could do it over again, I would have gotten red. It gets your attention and looks clean much longer than black. Enjoy! :2tu:

Advice re: buying extremely low-mileage Viper

Sounds like a more than fair price to me. Brand new the car went for approx $75k with another 3k gas guzzler and 3k lux tax. Owner drove less than 700 miles to show it. Assuming it wasn't flooded in Katrina or wrecked, it is well worth the money for a virtually brand new FE. Good luck.

    Finally joining the Viper Nation....

Congrats on your Viper. Break in is theoretically becoming less necessary because of the great engine tolerances of today. However, it is brand new and it is possible but rare for some shakedown issues so I would still go easy. Avoid rockchips by leaving lots of space between you and cars in...

traded in modded 04 C5 for stock 99 rt10 today

Congrats! I don't blame you for your former cynicism. The C5 is a great car and I just got one for summer DD. When putting the top on or taking off it is best to use 2 people to avoid scratching the paint. I am on 2 years with the Viper now and still get thrilled when I hit the gas. The...

C6 Vette owner thinking of getting into a GTS

I have had my Viper for 2 years and just got a 1999 C5 at a great deal for a summer DD. I also have driven my friend's modded C5 Z06. I still see the Viper as my dream car come true. Chuck Tator at Tator's Dodge in South Salem, NY is also one you should check out speaking from personal...
