picked up the 08 at the dealer... i can't say enough about my dealer...great experience.. i drove the viper off the showroom floor myself while the salesman guided me out ...just 2 miles on the odometer

Drove the car around town before heading home... compared to 03 seems to have a lot of power at hwy speeds even at low rpm...

The paint is spectacular , flawless, i had the car home and in 2 hours i had a number of mods done (i had done them on my previous viper)... mopar carbon dash... mgw shifter and bezel... also changed out door speakers to polk

For those looking for a stereo upgrade the $100 polks just bring the system alive...

Here are some pics including one with the protection group cover..modding continues at 0730

Awesome. I completely concur about the paint quality - I haven't found a flaw yet. What part number are the Polk speakers by the way?

Congratulations!

She's a beauty. I especially like the match of the red interior to the exterior paint.

Here is the scoop on the polk speakers... in the past members have used the DB650 however polk discontinued these and replaced them with DB 651... so i called polk and they said the fit is exactly the same...WRONG... the 651 do not have the 3 holes so it just does not fit...UNLESS you drill your own holes which i did.. i did all this before the car arrived...

Now polk does have a speaker which does fit perfectly and it is the DB651S .. the S stands for slim fit.........

The difference between the 651 and 651S is power.. the 651 are 180W rated and the 651S are 165W rated...just go to the polk website for details and pics

BTW i have a set of the DB651S for sale new in the box($50 + shipping)... i had a set ready in case i could not get the 651 to fit

ALSO remember on the install the black wire goes the negative terminal of the new polks

I really like the two tone interior. and the hood. I am seriously considering the hood myself.

Wallbanger,

What production number is your car. I ordered the same car except with white stripes and nav. My car went into producton in February and is still currently in 'I' status.

Beautiful car!! I love the color of it as well. Is that red different than the red's of the previous year? It looks exceptionally good in your pics.

my last 3 on the vin are 740... sorry your car is taking a while but hopefully it is back from prefix and is awaiting j status.. i was in I status for 3 weeks and J status for one week...

BTW i don't think my car was delivered by reliable ... it was in a 2 car trailer(enclosed) and the other car was not a viper.....

the red does seem slightly "deeper" than my 03

By the way, can you post pics of your Protection Package floor mats when you get a chance? Thanks.
