What's a reasonable discount on a new 2010 1 of 1 SSG/White ACR that lists at $114,270 ? The dealer says he would take my car on trade so I am wondering how much wiggle room he would have on an outright purchase.

Because it's 1 of 1... maybe not too much wiggle. On the other hand, I prefer black stripes to white on just about any Viper... save for the classic white on blue. I wonder if others have the same preference, and perhaps that's why this one was never purchased.

As in all deal-making, though, it's "what is it worth to me" that counts. Offer what you'd be happy with, and if the dealer declines... c'est la vie.

Depends a little bit on how long the dealership has had the car.

They longer they have it, the more expensive it is to keep around.

But as others have said, It's a beauty...

this one was on ebay a little bit ago for $94,900 with 6 miles on it.... it ended with no bids.... msrp was $111,***.... it is in Butler, MO if that helps... :)

V10enmous, you and I have met at Snakes Alive. Your GTS is a beauty, for sure. That ACR is smokin' hot, but as others have said, not too much wiggle room - I'd say 100K. Depending on what you get for your car, I would think you would still need a lot 'cash...

If I could, I would - so, if you can swing it, do it!

Apparently he's had the car a while and he really wants to get rid of it. The car was used in a local parade as a dealer promo once and has 34 miles but has never been titled. I've been in there several times looking at trucks and Jeeps and bought a new Grand Cherokee last week but never really considered the Viper seriously. So the salesman did what sales people do and said that he was going to work his hardest to put me in the Viper. He told me that he was knocking $7,500 off the Viper and told me what he would give me for my car which was around private party retail and I said I would add cash and then he came back with a monthly payment that didn't really add up in my mind anyway.

Looking at pictures I always liked the silver or black stripes on the SSG but I have to say that the white stripes in person are amazing. Nothing wrong with the extra stripe width on the 2010's as far as I'm concerned. As good as that picture looks it doesn't do justice to the appearance of this car. Like I said I really wasn't shopping for that car, it was more the salesman giving me the hard sell.

First, congrats on the new Grand Cherokee. Sounds like you already spent some money, so they want to get more out of you!! However, there are some very nice low-milegage Gen 4s on the market. I've thought (for about 5 seconds) about trading both my 03AND my 07 SRT8 Superbee for one, but I like the Bee too much, and like my 03 too much to do that.

In a few years, the 03 might plus some cash might go for a Gen4, but I'm just not in a position to do that now. Good luck in your search, maybe I'll see you at Snakes Alive in June with a new ride.

I've thought (for about 5 seconds) about trading both my 03AND my 07 SRT8 Superbee for one, but I like the Bee too much, and like my 03 too much to do that.

Hey Scott... Snakes Alive was awesome... That is definitely on my list for this year again. The timing is not great for me now either and I'd like to hang onto my car if I can when I buy the next one but this ACR is so nice that if he hung a real screaming deal out in front of me I might be tempted. Maybe in a few weeks when the Gen5 debuts Chrysler/Fiat will run a program to help dealers move out the remaining new inventory of 2010's.

There are a handful of 10 ACR's left in the whole country, it'll be gone by then.

The white on ssg looks great! What % rate is the dealership quoting you on the note?

Go in with a cash offer of $90k. Worst they can say is no. They need to sell it more than you need to buy it.

Definitely between 90-95K, even though the car is "NEW" its now over 2 years old. Look at what the value of a "10 ACR is with 10 miles on it actually is worth. Retail is 89K private party is 83K and trade in is 82K. Then again its worth what its worth to you and having it. Most times that over rules reality!! Don't we all know that.

I'm guessing that this car is on the upper end of MSRP with nav and stripes at $114,270. He said it's loaded. Anybody know what the high and low MSRP's are for 2010's ? I was thinking that the car is worth $90k and I'm sure he paid more. We were so far apart on the payment that I didn't even ask about the percentage or drill into the details. It also seemed like he was inflating the price he said he would give for my car which is typical. I understand that these guys have to eat too.

1 of 1 doesn't mean much really. A lot of new Vipers are 1 of 1 cars. It means more to us (owners) then the market. My car is a 1 of 1 and I paid invoice. Plus, the car the OP is asking about has been driven. If all the dealer is coming off is $7500, he's not trying hard enough IMO.

He may be "desperate" to sell it (funny how dealers always make buyers think that), but if he takes 20-24K off the car like you suggest I'll eat my hat.
Especially a dealer who sells a couple a year.
Can't hurt to throw it out there though.

One thing he pointed out to me is that the front splitter was removed to get the car into the showroom. He said they have it in the parts room. Makes me wonder if it will clear the ramps on my 4 post lift.

v10enomous, hard for me to tell if you're really serious about buying this ACR or just want pricing feedback? I say this primarily as you haven't researched the market, just looking at this one. That ACR is very nice and the MSRP is at the top end of non-dealer specials or limited editions such as the FE or 1:33 ( it has extra cost paint, nav, stripes). It took me a little time to find it on-line, these guys do a poor job of marketing, it's not listed on ebay, autotrader, cars.com. I'm sure as you say it a 1 of 1, do they know that or did your tell them as their listing doesn't mention it. They have it listed with a $6,500 discount and I'm sure they'd go lower. The solid SSG mentioned above has a MSRP of $3,100 lower (stripes), they listed for $94.9 or best offer and still have it so they must be willing to take a little more off. If you're serious, research the market, find what's availble new and at what price. Then have a discussion with the dealer and make a fair offer. Maybe they'd take $98K? I don't think dodge is going to jump in and offer dealer cash to blow out the '10's but who knows. Based on how they market and where their located I'd bet it will be there for more time (unless this thread creates a buyer). Good luck, it's a great ACR, and ACR's are awsome! Mike

More clearance under the ACR than your GTS.
Five inches under the ACR at stock factory setting, less than three with the downward lip of the GTS.
I know, I always slightly touch with the GTS and don't with the ACR on driveway bottom.

Like I said I was in there buying a Jeep. Of course he noticed me staring at the proverbial elephant in the room just 6' from his desk and one can imagine how the conversation ensued from there. So I was not serious about the car but since it seemed like he did right by me on the Jeep deal, I said "sure go ahead" when he asked me for the opportunity to sell me the ACR. My biggest fear is that if I buy it then my kids will disown me if I don't buy new cars for them too and then I'd be down close to $200k even though I already had a Viper and an SUV before I went in there :lmao:

He's talking about the carbon fiber "track extension" piece that bolts onto the middle of the front splitter. As mentioned above, the stock "street" height for this ACR isn't that low, and I doubt you'd have any issues clearing your lift ramps. None that couldn't be easily fixed with some lumber, worst-case.

Sounds like the salesman was trying to stick you with the infamous "third leg" of the car deal... fuzzy financing.

If I were you, I'd take an evening and go through every for-sale Gen IV ACR you can find on the web (fun! I might do that myself). Which of these do you highly prefer? Rate them, without regard for posted price. Take the top three from this list and figure out, bottom line, what you'd pay for each one. And then deal on all three at once.

I guess I'm saying: go for the car you REALLY want... not just the one that's convenient. Of course, there's value in having the car right there, available for your inspection... but clearly there's ample evidence that our VCA-supporting dealers will provide you with a perfect ACR.

This car is sitting because it is SSG (love it or hate it) and it has NO stripes.
That's a LOT of green with nothing breaking it up. If it was striped it would be long gone at that price.

(and yes, I do know I own the only other solid SSG ACR in the world, I must be nuts! The other solid ones produced have been striped in some form or fashion by the buyer.)

this way of thinking is biggest mistake many people do. If dealer didn't pay for car by himself (what is very rare), he makes money from factory having car displayed for sale. More money than car/bussiness insurance cost. It is hard to believe that with vipers it works other way.
Car really is a beauty, but personally I would start offering not more than 87-88k$. Probably factory discount is more than those 7500$ he offered you. After salesman reaction you will know if they really want to get rid of it.

I'm sure a car that has a MSRP of 114K will be easily picked up for 87-88K, 'cause dealers are routinely giving 27K off.
No problem.
