If you probably did not read the fine print, it is part of the 102 point inspection. The inspection is merely to confirm that the filters are actually in place.

Suggest you change all fluids, plugs, wires and check your tire pressures.

yeah never trust the dealers inspection...

a short story for you about dealer inspections.. before the purchase of my 96 GTS I took it to the local Dodge Dealer who which I had there Viper Tech do a pre-purchase inspection on the car.. He checks the car out.. I buy the car drive it for a day or so and change the oil. Come to find out I only got 5 quarts of oil out of the car... some inspection there......

They don't look that bad to me - simply a black/grey color is not necessarily that bad. Its when you find twigs, bugs, small birds and such in them that you worry.

I was expecting to see some asphalt. These don't look much worse than the stock ones I pulled out of mine at 5k miles.

Filters are suppose to be quote "dirty"...and the visual impact tends to make for a quick sale/few extra bucks at Quick-Lube service centers and the like for new air filters. Until someone invents a Dyson Vacuum-like air filter system, I expect to see a filthy air filter every time I pull the box. Your's look like normal for about 5k miles or so IMO.
