got knee replacements scheduled first one on 7-16-14. Should I be worried I would no longer be able to drive my viper. Any comments welcome. Hell to get old.

Thanks, Eagles

Good question. My wife last year had a knee replacement and its a good 6-8 weeks for some recovery, months for a full recovery. She could not drive for many weeks per the Dr. Plan on lots of therapy the first couple of weeks. Put a battery tender on the car before you have it done as it will be awhile but in the end its well worth it.

Had a knee replacement a couple of years ago and after three months it was fine for driving the Gen1. Make sure you do your exercises after the operation as you only have a limited time to get full knee bend back before everything heals completely and if you have not achieved 90 degrees you never will. I worked like hell and got better than 90 degrees so everything is perfect. Getting in and out is a doddle and by the way I have also had a replacement hip. Good luck with it you wont regret it.

If you get a partial knee replacement, recover is around 1-2 months. Full knee replacement, recover is around 3-4 months.

Hmmm.
I noticed that people all the time now are getting new stuff.
Like their knee replaced, or hip, internal vital organs, hair, all kinds of things.

..........you never hear of anybody getting a new skull.

I've wondered that myself. My 08 ACR was easy to get in and out but I had to adjust to get in and out of my TA, not bad, just harder. Would love to have a memory seat like I had on my ZR1 and my wife has on her car.

I have a hip replacement and have no issues driving the Viper. Mine is a Gen II and very tight inside.

Yes, I have no issues driving the Callaway either. Although, isn't mentioning the Corvette on this forum taboo... ;-) j/k

I had my left knee replaced and was back to driving in 6 weeks. No issue with that knee getting in and out of the car.

You should be fine, no worries!
