Are all cowl covers at the base of the windshield plastic?

Today was one of those days where I shake my head in disbelief at myself and how dumb I can be sometimes. I have my intake/valve covers powder coated in a dark grey wrinkle. I am now doing the PCM cover and smooth tubes. I thought about it and decided it would be cool to have the cowl cover at the base of the windshield in the grey wrinkle also - to kind of bring the engine compartment out from under the hood a bit. I have had that cowl off MANY times, and last night I was all over it carefully removing the glued on rubber strip that contacts the windshield. Today I was giving parts to the courier and I said "OMFG this is plastic! I can't powder coat this!" Duh squared. I have sent it to the body shop to be painted to match the silver body color, but it leads me to the question - are they all plastic? Or are there steel versions?

I already had both my RT and GTS cowls painted....yupper, they are plasic. SMC to be exact (sheet-molded composite as I was told)

Put a deep anthracite grey on both.....looks VERY nice.

YIKES! Body shop just sent over a $250 estimate. NO WAY! Gawd I feel stoopid for taking the rubber trim and heat deflecting tape off of that piece. Any suggestions on what glue to use to stick the rubber trim strip back on?

My 2001 is plastic. I remember using a rubber cement product from GM at one time to reattach a rubber seal on a t-top to plastic and metal. I do not recall the name of the cement though. Check with Pep Boys or AutoZone.

I have an extra cowl that came off of my 97 for sale , it is stock and in great shape. how about $175?
