Good Morning,
My name is Mike Briggs and I work for BBK Performance in Temecula Calif. I am in the R&D department and have a request for any So Cal Viper owners.
We are trying to complete the testing of our twin 67mm throttle body we offer for the Vipers. We have had a small issue with them and have done certian steps to overcome this.
We really need to aquire a Viper for final testing so we can release this throttle body to waiting customers and future ones as well.
The testing will be done inhouse on our dyno. We don't need to actually do high rpm testing, just some runs at hiway style speeds. We would need the car for an entire day and could compensate for your time.
Any help from any So Cal Viper owner would be greatly appreciated. We have commitments to custumers we need to get resolved and really need to do this final testing ASAP.
If some one would be interested, please give me a call at (951)296-1771 ext. 312. or please drop me an email at [email protected]
Thank you so much for any consideration in this matter.

Will the owners of the current BBK model be able to exchange for the new one that does not have idle hang up issue and works?. I purchased mine in November 08 and had in the car for only a few days. It worked fine when engine was cold, but after that, it would rev from 1200 and up and sometime hang up near 3000rpm's. Not good at all on a Viper.

I sent Mike an email asking if current owners of the BBK T/B would be able to exchange it for the new, improved model when it comes out. He said they hope to have the idle issue fixed and are in testing stage now, reason for his post above to get a test car. Here is his reply. It is nice to know that BBK stands behind their product even after the warrnty has expired. :2tu:

Absolutely. Customer service did ask me to advise you that they would like you to please send a copy of your receipt so the process can get started and there will be no hangup in you getting your replacement as soon as we get the throttle body released. Technically the warranty is for one year, but in this case it will still be honored. The copy can be faxed or emailed. The fax # (951)296-9024. Email is [email protected], or my email and I will pass it along.
Further, we believe we have fixed that problem and are very close to releasing the new version. Our only problem at this point is finding that test vehicle to confirm we have it fixed. As you are aware, there isn't a Viper sitting on every street corner that could be asked to be used. Viper owners are very protective of the cars, and I don't blame them, and that makes it even harder. It's like trying to borrow a hot rodders $150,000 1933 Ford Coupe!! Very difficult.
Thank you for your patience and know we are trying to get this finalized.

So if you have one of the early ones, hold on to it for an exhange. Sounds like BBK is going to make it right.

BBK has agreed to send us new TB's for the cars we had an issue with. The problem was high idle at times and they designed a new linkage I think. When sorted, this will be a great throttle body as it's twin blade designs good low speed power and driveability.

Dan,
I purchased mine from you. Do I send it back to you for replacement or back to BBK?

When the new part becomes available you can call BBK for a return authorization and they will supply you with a new one. We can do this for you as well.

Any updates on this Dan or Mike? I have a BBK that was purchased through DC that is having the hang issue. Would like to get it switched out as well.

Thanks,
Mike

I have the 'new' BBK Throttle body on my 04. BBK used my Vert for the last test two weeks ago.
The change (upgrade) is in the throttle arm. They are now using the SRT Truck throttle arm.
I never had a problem with the first one. If there was a problem it is fixed now. Just to let everyone know BBK is a first class operation and Mike who did the tech was very professional on the install and Dyno. And Shane the chief of design and CNC also was involved to give the final O.K. They want your business for the future no matter what your ride is.

Iam just waiting for BBK to let me know that the new part is released. As soon as it is I will be happy to process a return authorization for anyone having an issue.
