Some of you may remember this 96 in car trader that dude in N.C. had for sale. The pic he put in the ad showed the car filthy.I went and saw this car and was damn near nauseated at its condition.Car only had 372 miles but had been stored in this warehouse with about 100 other collectible cars, old t-birds,continentals,chevys,vettes,and other muscle cars. All the cars in the back where this 96 was stored were also filthy. He had some halfass museum up front with some cool cars,GTOs,mustangs,Shely GT 500 etc. They were in better condition though.Well I decided to rescue this car.Tom Sessions and I got a new battery and went to get it.Tom put new battery in and it cranked right up on fumes that were 9 years old.Went and gassed it up on flat tires and brought it home.I have before and after pix but not sure how to post them.I can email them to some one if they know how to do this or otherwise school me how to post them.I think car restored beautifully despite the crazy old coot who had it.Car is totally stock and original pilots took air and had no flat spots which is lucky for having not moved in 9 years....go figure some people.

Posting pics is much easier now than before, go to the media section and set up your own gallery and then upload your pics, when you view your pics you will see a URL at teh bottom of the window, you paste this info into your post after you click the image button, try it out in the test post area. It is only hard until you get it right then it is easy.

Looking forwrd to see you resoration pics congrtas on the find!

Cal Cobra everything he has could be bought and he has alot of nice cars.Looking at how my car turned out I think most of his collection would clean up nicely.I do however worry about his older stuff because he has owned them for years. If youre ever over this way I can hook you up....crazy,eccentric fellow but a good old boy for the most part.He actually is part owner of Ford dealership in Wadesboro N.C.

Thanks everybody....it truly was a diamond in the rough. When I first saw it and it was covered in bird crap and dirt I wondered if I was making a mistake. There was even a nest built in the top of the engine down around exhaust manifold.I took my leaf blower and took ten minutes to blow all the debris from in and around the engine.....geeesss....oh well it turned out nice. Now the age old question of whether to drive it or try to keep miles low....Im sure theres plenty of opinion on that!!!!!!

372 miles, what a beauty! Is the Shelby GT500 for sale?
Very nice. Actually, I thought it would have been dirtier that what it was. Cal, I MAY be selling my 68 GT500/KR convertible but not sure yet. I really like the new Ford GT40 but don't know if I want to sell one for the other. PM for information.

Why yes I do. I have pics of all my cars, I just have to dig out the photo album. I am probably keeping her though. I have been thinking long and hard about it and I do love my KR.

68 KR convertible is an absolute dream car of mine... I should have bought one 6 years ago that I found fro $50K. It was the same color as my 1969 Mach I.

That's actually where my tag came from MYDRMKR... My Dream KR.

Now come on guys. Everyone knows that North carolina dust is very dusty and that North Carolina birds have exceptionally repulsive ***** material. Nice rescue. Nice clean-up. Did you find any degredation of rubber seals, etc.?

first off if you don't want an opinion don't post anything.
the only reason you are mad is you don't like hearing the
truth. and your comeback about the *** ***** sites? thats the best you can do? i see that dental degree from
the Bahamas is paying off. you are a regular intelectual giant.
