!!! HELP !!! My attorney suggests a speedometer calibration receipt or affidavit and driver improvement prior to court. Who does this kind of thing on the old GEN1? I live in NW Indiana.
My speedo runs about 3-4 mph slow...probably due to the larger wheel/tire combination.
That is so ugly.............I almost threw up..Virginia doesn't fool around with speeders. A good friend of mine spent 30 days in jail for doing 116 in a 55.
Yup, he failed to use any sense by going that fast on a road (near Warrenton) with other cars. He did retain a good lawyer which ended up costing him about $5,000. The first judge originally sentenced him to a year with 8 months suspended and on appeal he got 4 months with three months suspended. He also has his license suspended for 6 months.
He served his month in jail without incident.

What the? A year for doing 116? That's what they give first time offenders of GTA in most states. Even 30 days in jail seams excessive. I never thought I would say this but... If your friend is dumb enough to do that again, it almost seems worth the risk in that state to just run. They're gonna take his car from him anyway. I would never run, but you already committed what appears to be a felony when you go triple digits in that state. I don't condone running from the law but you don't ever see Vipers, Ferrari's or Lambo's on world's wildest police chases for a reason... they get away, rather quickly, without making a scene because the chase is over as quickly as it began in some cases. And I doubt they have heli support in nowhereville Virginia. I'm just picturing country highways with endless straights, maybe I'm wrong. It's crazy, excessive laws like this that make idiots want to run.
Ouch, was this the one from the Grand Caravan? Can't believe he didn't pull all 4 of us over, must of been the way we were staggered that kept him from seeing all of us Good luck!!
I'm in the same boat but a calibration receipt won't help unless it's way off.... Good luck!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure this is Roy ("22 Over") from the Caravan. Man, sorry to hear about the trouble Roy. I was #3 of 4 in that pack of speedy Vipers. Must of been our cat like reflexes and cloaking devices when we all scattered and saw the wounded lead snake jumped on.
I do want to thank Roy for giving me the old Viper article though with the steps to enable your Gen 1 fog lights separate from the headlights. Now if I could just straighten out my body from that position where I had to work on the fuse box. Gese...gettin old.

yeah, everyone says that
... went to TLC and didnt even have to appear in court ---
What is TLC?
I'll make you a cake with a file in it, Mark.
Chocolate or vanilla?
I was told a story by a local. Virginia state troopers use confiscated cars to join in with car club caravans. We things look clear and the hammer goes down, the undercover car will call in ten or twenty buddies for back up.
