Your mission, should you choose to accept it:
1) Go to your local bookstore, supermarket, or magazine rack.
2) Search out the July 2002 issue of "Sport Compact Car".
3) Open to page 166, and note the two Vipers (#14 and #16)competing for top-10 streetcar in the country.
4) Turn to page 189 and rip it out of the magazine (after you buy it, of course

) Vote. Mail.

Total cost to you: $0.34 stamp, 5 minutes out of your life.
Total benefit to the Viper nation after Mumford and I stomp the life out of the competition: Priceless.

Key to help Ben and P. Mumford is to take out the end page of said article, fill in your top ten cars, and mail in. Hopefully we can get the two boys in for the challenge. Good luck and thanks for pointing it out, Ben.

Everyone,
Thanks for the quick and postive response! These contests are often decided on thin margins (so few people actually take the time to vote) and every one of you will help!

FUSCUCLA1, if my car's one of the 10 voted into the actual competition, I'll most definitely be in SoCal. Will you be wanting a spin in the Yellow Beast?

MadMaxx, I doubt it's rigged or they wouldn't have included my & Mumford's Viper in the candidate list to begin with. Also, last year a Ferrari won (!), beating out Turbo Supras and the like. As for why I subscribe, I always try to keep tabs on current technology. For example, front-mount intercooling has been a boon for 700+ HP DLM cars as well as 1.6L turbo hondas

and will be a key piece of the puzzle in my car.

SoCal, you (and, err, the rest of this board) will know the moment it's done. You may even hear the burnout from where you live

Thanks everyone!

Will do.

And I don't think it's rigged.

I had the mag for last competition and a Ferrari won - yes,it's true. Beat out a twin engine Hyundai, turbo supra, and others not worth remembering, oh they even had a supercharged mustang last time.

Let's bring some real muscle to that party - VOTE.

Dave.

My buddy entered my Viper into this Ultimate Street Car Challenge, but I guess I didn't make the cut, huh? We kind of did it as a joke because it was a compact car magazine and we really didn't think they would accept a Viper. Hopefully both Vipers make it into the actual challenge though. I'll have to pick up the magazine tommorrow.
