Hey Guys,

FYI, we've organized a So Cal Viper Club "drive by" of Dave's house tomorrow. Hopefully, we can lift his spirits.

Very tough situation for all of us.

Dave was in the middle of packing up my big brake order when he had to go into the hospital. He called me from his hospital bed explaining the situation and the delay and that I'd get all my parts ASAP. Dave went the extra mile even in those tough circumstances to make sure I got everything I needed. While I was aware of his situation I hadn't heard anything else until just reading this thread. What a kick in the head. Dave, be strong. We're pulling for you.

This morning at 10:30, a very large group of Vipers will be parading past Dave's home to let him know that we are still here thinking of him and his family.

I know that those who can not make the drive with us will be there in spirit.

If they'd all park in front of the house, and did a "Gentlemen, start your engines" moment... it would surely bring a smile to him. :)

The street wasn't long enough for the amount of folks that showed. Dave was able to be in the front with his race yellow viper chair. I hope we were able to lift his spirits some. We "rumbled" by, some revved their engines, eye contact and hand gesters exchanged. We slinked out of the neighboor hood quietly in a somber mood with many bystanders wondering what was up. It was our Viper family saying Vaya con Dios to our brother and our friend.

Thank you everyone for your show of support for a very dear friend to the entire Viper nation.
With about 30 cars in single file line, we ran a "Missing Man" formation in front of Dave's house. Dave and his Wife were sitting in the garage watching as we all passed through. I took a brief minute to stop and deliver a bouquet of yellow flowers in a Viper vase and was able to hug my dear friend one last time. With tears streaming down both our faces, I managed to get out some words and assured him that there was support in spirit from across the entire Viper Nation there with us today.

His condition is not likely to get better and sadly will have to endure some very rough days still yet to come. Hopefully our visit today will provide him with some strength to fight through the pain.

I have read through this entire thread and Iam not ashamed to say it made me cry.:(
I lost my mother to the evil C word and still think of her almost daily 15 years later...I have never met Dave but by all the post written here Iam assured hes a great guy..Iam not a praying man but I will think about him tonight and hope for a miracle...
If people in general stuck together like the people on this site we would live in a much better world...What a classy thought that drive-by was. What aclass bunch of people..Kevin

I have been very saddened to hear about Dave's condition. I have such great memories of Dave when I had my B/W 97, and his jokes and excitement about all Vipers. For those in the Viper community that have not met Dave firsthand he is a real kick in the pants to be around. Very joyous and great outlook on life, his involvement in the community down here is sorely going to be missed. As I plan to get back into a Silver RT/10 next year one of the biggest things I was looking forward to was some Ribbing from Dave for being away for 2 1/2 years.

Upstanding, gracious, and a real treasure of a man for those who know him. I wish him the best and also for his wife Arlene. I am thankfull, to have known Dave for the times we had, now the Socal Viper community will have shoes to fill that I don't know if they can be.

What a group of 1st class people. That is why I frequent this site. I have never seen this kind of comaraderie on any other site.

my thoughts and prayers go out to Dave and his family.

something like this sure puts my puny problems into perspective.

It is with great sadness that I have to say that Dave passed away today at 12:30 pm. He was at home and went peacefully.
He will be missed by all.

I know that this has been posted in another thread....but I wanted to bring closure to this thread as well.

I know that all the cards and well wishes sent were truly appreciated by him and his family.

Thank you all for being there for him.

Sh*t, I am overwhelmed to say the least.
I had gotten to know Dave a little as a lot of us know each other -- not in person, but over the internet and phone. I bought his BB kit and oil catch can, and we talked quite a bit about upgrades and our days at the track. Often I would call him and hear his out of breath voice as cars could be heard whizzing by, and knew he was at the track at that very moment. So cool.
I want to thank all those that made that final showing driving by his house and delivering flowers. You were my proxy in my feelings for Dave, and I appreciate everyone's gesture. Wish I could have been there.
So sad, and so quick...
:(
