I am really sorry for you Dimitrios.

Dimitrios, your case makes me remember a friend who had the SAME trouble. I do remember that in NJ your viper was already smoking while accelerating (too rich) and while breaking (blow by). We even had a look on that heavily modified yellow Viper to check his crankcase ventillation.

Low octane fuel (91 oct) + Blow by (oil in intake) + carbon fouled cylinders + summer temperature + high RPM (above 5000rpm) => 100% chance of dead for the engin.

The problem with the blow by is that the oil in the intake dramatically reduces the Fuel octane level. For instance even if you use 93oct fuel, the oil will drop the octane level to 90 !!! It happens so suddenly that you have no time to lift your feet from the accelerator and you engin is dead.

Unfortunately when all this happens there is nothing to do except to fix the engin and LEARN. Make some overtime at work and have your engin rebuilt: Forged pistons and blue printed engin. Stay away from modified cams.

Another note: My viper was not the most powerfull on that hot spring day but was the most reliable.

Broken rings? I am assuming you mean compression rings and not landrings? If he cracked rings, chances are he had inaudible detonation for quite a while... compression rings are really just springs, and when overheated from detonation, lose their heat-treat and become brittle, and often lose their "spring" as well, taking on the size of the cylinder and allowing blow-by.

I'm hoping it will be done by then? You are going to have to do a break-in on a new motor!! You will not feel that 700HP till you do a SLOW 1000 miles first! Sorry :(
